This paper presents a qualitative study on the process involved in decision-making and problem-solving during part-time jobs of Vietnamese students in Daegu University (DU), South Korea. The research employed the concept of muddling through which was developed by Lindblom (Lindblom, 1959, 1979). The results found that Vietnamese students in DU coped with a range of unpredicted challenges at workplaces by a process involved in psychological unease and adaptation. The double roles of both student migrants and non-regular/low-wage workers have greatly influenced on their responses to hardships in working part-time.
