Student-Led Conference(SLC) has gained attention as a successful example of a learner-centered curriculum. This research aims at analyzing the experiences and perceptions of US teachers who practice SLC in their classroom. My research uses a phenomenological method. Five American teachers participated in my research. I found that American teachers set educational goals individually according to students' interests. They also connected the SLC preparation with their regular curriculum. The several different evaluation data of SLC were mailed to the parents. Through this process, students were assumed to be leading academic performers and parents established a strong bondage with teachers and their own kid in the learning community.

최근 미국 교육에서는 기존의 학부모 교사 면담을 수정한 학습자 중심 학습면담을 정규 교육과정과 연계하여 교육과정을 실행하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 학습자 중심 학습면담을 교육과정과 연계하여 활용한 미국 교사들의 경험과 인식을 질적 연구 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구에는 5명의 미국 중학교 교사들이 참여하였다. 연구결과 교사들은 학습자 중심 학습면담 준비과정에서 학생들의 관심에 흥미에 따라 개별적으로 교육목표를 설정하고 이를 정규 수업과 연계하여 진행하였으며 학습자 중심 학습면담을 진행하면서 단순히 학업성취 외에도 전반적인 학교생활에 대한 평가를 실시하였다. 평가 자료는 학습자 중심 학습면담 이후 교육과정에 반영되었다. 이와 같은 과정을 통해 학생들은 주도적인 학업 수행자로 가정되었으며 학부모들은 자연스럽게 학업 공동체에 포함될 수 있었다.
