The purpose of this paper is to review the history of Japanese thought by Tunetugu Muraoka, who was the first in Japan to study the theory of Japanese thought as a subject of study. Muraoka looked for pure Japanese feelings in ancient Japanese culture. Muraoka's idea was clarified in the study of Nobunaga who wrote Kojiki Biography. Therefore, Muraoka's study of the history of Japanese thought was the work of ideologically defining national studies centered on Kojiki and Norinaga. In this process, the literary methods of German philologist August Boeck were heavily utilized. Muraoka used August Boeck's philology method to create a Japanese bibliographic method centered on Norinaga. Muraoka aimed at bibliographical research to find purely Japanese things at the heart of Japanese culture. However, if Muraoka's study of the history of Japanese thought ultimately reflects national interests and objectives, a deeper reflection on the direction of the study of Japanese thought history since Muraoka is required at this point. It is at the point where it is necessary to reconsider whether the study of the history of Japanese thought since Muraoka has been conducted based on reflection on these parts.

본 논문은 일본에서 처음으로 일본사상사학을 학문의 연구 대상으로 삼아 사상 사 연구의 이론적 방법론을 모색한 무라오카 쓰네쓰구(村岡典嗣, 1884-1946)의 일 본사상사 연구에 대한 재검토를 목적으로 한다. 무라오카는 순수한 일본인의 정감 을 일본의 고대 문화속에서 찾고자 했다. 무라오카의 일본사상사 연구는 고사기 와 노리나가를 중심으로 하는 국학을 사상적으로 규정하는 작업이었다. 이 과정에 서 독일 문헌학자 아우구스트 뵈크(August Boeck)의 문헌학적 방법이 대폭 활용 되었다. 무라오카는 뵈크의 문헌학적 방법을 활용하여 노리나가를 중심으로 하는 일본 문헌학적 방법을 만들어 나갔다. 무라오카는 일본 문화의 근간에 있는 순수 한 일본적인 것을 찾아내는 것이 문헌학의 목적이라고 했다. 이러한 연구는 국체연구로 귀결된다. 그런데 무라오카의 일본사상사 연구에 결국 국가적 이익이나 목적이 반영된 것 이라면 이 지점에서 무라오카 이후의 일본사상사 연구의 방향성에 대해 보다 깊은 성찰이 요구된다. 무라오카 이후의 일본사상사 연구는 이러한 부분에 대한 성찰위 에서 이루어지고 있는가에 대해서는 재고가 필요한 시점이다.
