Police officers are being hospitalized for various injuries and illnesses due to long-term and repeated exposure to hard work and stress. It is also said that stress was found to be 1.5 times higher than that of the general public. Due to this environment, the necessity of health care by police officers has been continuously rising. Therefore, this study recognizes the importance of police officers 'participation in sports clubs, and aims to highlight the importance of participation in sports clubs by identifying the relationship between police officers' participation in sports clubs and the effectiveness of police organizations. According to the research, it was found that the participation of police officers in sports club activities had a significant positive effect on job satisfaction, job commitment, and organizational commitment. In addition, job satisfaction has a significant positive (+) effect on job commitment and organizational commitment, and job commitment has a significant positive (+) effect on organizational commitment. As a result of this, the sports club activities of police officers have a profound effect on the job satisfaction, organizational unity and solidarity of each police officer. Therefore, it is considered that a plan should be prepared to activate sports clubs both inside and outside the police organization.

경찰공무원은 고된 업무와 스트레스에 장기적으로 또 반복으로 노출되어 각종 상해와 질병으로 입원 치료를 받고 있으며, 스트레스 또한 일반인보다 1.5배가 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다고 한다. 이러한 환경 탓에 최근 경찰관의 건강관리의 필요성이 지속적으로 대두가 되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 경찰공무원의 스포츠 동호회 참여의 중요성을 인식하고, 경찰공무원의 스포츠 동 호회 참여와 경찰조직 유효성의 관계를 구명함으로써 스포츠 동호회 참여의 중요성을 부각시키는데 그 의미를 두고 있다. 연구 내용을 살펴보면 경찰공무원의 스포츠 동호회 활동 참여는 직무만족, 직무몰입, 조직몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 직무만족은 직무몰입과 조직몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 있으며, 직무몰입은 조직몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사 되었다. 이와 같은 결과로 볼 때 현재 활동하고 있는 경찰공무원의 스포츠 동호회 활동이 경찰 공무 각 개인의 직무만족과 조직 화합과 결속에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 따라서 경찰조직 내외적으로 스 포츠 동호회를 활성화 시킬 수 있는 방안이 마련되어야 할 것으로 여겨진다.
