This study is to articulate the idea of Innere Mission of Johann Hinrich Wichern, a representative figure of Diakonia in 19th century Germany, and his social welfare role. Through this, this study would like to suggest an alternative as a way of thinking about how Christian social welfare institutions operating in the situation of Korea and the field of social welfare should be applied with the spirit of Diakonia. In addition, I started with serious concerns about whether social welfare can be a channel of the gospel when it is managed through Diakonia and worship in Korean Christianity. The German Diakonia movement was a reform movement and awakening against social problems resulting from the Industrial Revolution. In this German reality, Wichern presents a way for the church to enter the world. Since 1842 he has insisted on a campaign called ‘Innere Mission’ Innere Mission soon became a bridge between church and society, which is indispensable in large cities. Thus, the researcher examined his Innere Mission and theological ideas and activities, focusing on Johann Hinrich Wichern, who was in charge of Germany and the practical pioneer of Diakonia. We considered the application in our situation and reality. The researcher conducted a case study of Y Senior Welfare Society. This case study attempted to suggest the application to Christian social welfare institutions operating in social welfare sites in Korea. Diakonia builds the community of faith right through the gospel and is based on the words “love your neighbor as yourself” in Mark 12:31. This is the practical way of life for Christians who serve their neighbors, serve their region, and serve the world. It is also believed that by practicing this service and service, it becomes a channel for the neighbors of the world to receive the Gospel and through this, it is a way to be established together as a community of Jesus.

독일 디아코니아 운동은 산업혁명의 결과로 발생한 사회문제에 대항하여 생겨난 개혁운동이고 각성운동이었다. 이러한 독일의 현실 속에서 요한 힌리히 비헤른 (Johann Hinrich Wichern)은 교회가 세상 속으로 나아가야 하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그는 1842년부터‘내적선교(Innere Mission)’라는 운동을 주장했는데‘내적선교’는 곧 대 도시에서 없어서는 안 될 교회와 사회를 연결하는 다리로써 자리 잡게 되었다. 이에 연구자는 우리보다 앞선 독일과 그 속에서 디아코니아의 실천적 선구자 역할을 담당 하였던 비헤른을 중심으로 그가 어떻게 디아코니아를 실천했는지를 그의 내적선교의 신학적 사상과 활동들을 알아보고 우리의 상황과 현실 속에서 그 적용 점을 고찰하고자 한다. 이 연구는 한국 기독교 사회복지가 디아코니아와 예배를 통하여 운영되어질 때 복음의 통로가 될 수 있는가에 관한 진지한 고민에서 출발하였다. 따라서 본 연구 는 19세기 독일 디아코니아의 대표적 인물이었던 요한 힌리히 비헤른(Johann Hinrich Wichern)의 내적선교(Innere Mission)사상과 기독교 사회복지 역할 연구를 통하여 기 독교 사회복지기관이 어떻게 한국의 상황 속에서 디아코니아의 정신을 가지고 적용시 켜야 하는지를 고찰하고 그 대안을 논하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 한국 복지법 인‘Y노인복지회’의 사례연구를 통하여 한국의 사회복지의 현장에서 기독교 사회복지 기관으로 운영함에 있어 그 적용 점을 제시해 보고자 한다. 디아코니아는 복음을 통 해서 신앙공동체를 바로 세우는 것으로 마가복음 12장 31절의“네 이웃을 네 자신과 같이 사랑하라”하신 말씀을 바탕으로 한다. 이것은 이웃을 섬기고 지역을 섬기고 나 아가 세상을 섬기는 그리스도인의 실천적인 삶의 방식이다. 또한 이 섬김과 봉사를 실천함으로써 세상의 이웃들이 복음을 받아들이는 통로가 되며 이를 통하여 예수의 공동체로 함께 세워져 가는 길인 것이다.
