The purpose of this study is to grasp the perspectives contained in and problems associated with them by analyzing people, events, and themes of video contents in multicultural education, and to suggest directions of improving the contents. To this end, 112 contents, of which the production agency is clear and which installed on a site operated by a national institution, were selected among the multi-cultural education video contents and analyzed according to the criteria made of reconstructed elements of storytelling. As a result of analysis, prejudices against (or toward) and misconceptions about multicultural characters were found in many contents, and although the object of multicultural education was expanded, a lack of consideration for multicultural students was found. Therefore, it was suggested that for proper multicultural education, when creating new multicultural education video contents, they should be carefully produced with more diverse aspects of society and careful consideration should be for multicultural students.

이 연구는 다문화 영상 콘텐츠의 내용을 인물, 사건, 주제를 중심으로 분석하여 영상에 담긴 다문화교 육의 관점과 문제점을 파악하고 개선 방향을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 다문화교육 영상 콘텐츠 중 제작 기관을 명확하게 확인할 수 있고, 국가 기관에서 운영하는 사이트에 탑재되어 있는 콘텐츠 112개를, 스토리텔링 요소를 재구성하여 제작한 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 많은 콘텐츠에서 다문화 인물에 대한 편견과 오개념을 발견할 수 있었고, 다문화 교육의 대상은 확대되었지만 오히려 다문화 학생에 대한 배 려가 부족하다는 문제점을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 올바른 다문화교육을 위해 새로운 영상 콘텐츠 제작 시 보다 다양한 사회의 모습과 다문화 학생에 대한 세심한 배려를 담아 신중히 제작해야 한다.
