With the national efforts to develop human resources, today's education environment is rapidly changing. Learning environment supported by information and communication technology is transforming into lifelong and opened learning environment. This new environment not only supports learning actively, but also organizes and supervises learners dynamically. In order to develop human resources, expansions on education have been actualized, thanks to the highly popularized and advanced technology. This study views that e-learning is one way to actively aid in learning. Therefore, in order to activate it, educators who take charge of learning process should reconsider the perception of e-learning. From this point, researcher surveyed educators' perception of e-learning in 5 parts. First,
necessity of e-learning class, Second, effects of e-learning, Third, causes of participation & non-participation in e-learning class, Fourth, requirements in managing e-learning class and Fifth, activation of e-learning in lifelong
education. According to a recent survey, researcher suggests several ideas. First, the enhancing strategy program for educators to internalize the concept of e-learning. Second, construction of easily accessible and user-friendly
environment for e-learning class. Third, utilize various systems to help educators concentrate on subject message expert role and instructional designer role. Fourth, develop motivation to encourage educator's participation. Fifth, find active usage of blended learning. Sixth, develop customized and tailored e-learning programs for adult learners and expand interaction of e-learning contents between universities.

오늘날의 교육환경은 국가적인 차원에서의 인적자원 개발노력과 함께 정보통신기술이 지원되는 학습환경에서 학습자를 역동적으로 조직․관리하며 적극적인 학습을 지원할 수 있는 평생학습사회․열린학습사회로 빠르게 전환되고 있다. 이러한 인적자원 개발을 위한 교육의 지평 확대는 고도화․대중화된 정보통신기술과의 통합을 통한 e-러닝으로 더욱 구체화․활성화되고 있다.
본 연구는 고등교육기관인 대학에서 학습을 지원하기 위한 하나의 교육방법으로써 e-러닝의 활성화를 위해서는 교수-학습과정을 담당하는 교수자들의 e-러닝에 대한 인식을 제고시킬 필요성이 있다고 보았다. 이러한 취지에서, 본 연구에서는 대학 교수자들의 e-러닝에 대한 인식을 e-러닝 수업의 필요성에 관한 인식, e-러닝 수업의 효과에 대한 인식, e-러닝수업의 참여/미참여 요인, e-러닝 수업 운영에 관한 요구, 평생교육에서의 e-러닝 활성화의 5가지 영역으로 나누어 설문조사하였다.
조사 결과를 바탕으로 하여, 본 연구에서는 첫째, e-러닝에 대한 인식의 내면화를 가져오기 위한 교수자역량강화프로그램의 필요성, 둘째, e-러닝 수업에 쉽게 접근하고 활용할 수 있도록 하는 환경의 구성, 셋째, e-러닝 수업에서 교수자가 내용 전문가, 교수설계자에 집중 할 수 있도록 수업운영에 있어서 도움을 줄 수 있는 다양한 제도의 활용, 넷째, 교수자들이 e-러닝수업에 동참할 수 있도록 하는 동기 유인책의 개발, 다섯째, b-러닝(blended learning) 의 적극적 활용방안 모색 여섯째 대학에서 성인학습자를 위한 맞춤형주문형의 e-러닝 프로그램 개발 및 e-러닝 콘텐츠의 대학 간 교류 확대를 제안하였다.
