Discussion and interest in the theology of work is emerging. The situation in the 21st century has created a challenge to redefine the concept of traditional work as employment instability and liquidity intensify. Therefore, theology of work is becoming an important discourse in academic as well as ecclesial settings. This paper discusses the tasks required for the theology of traditional work to guide and interpret the current situation. To this end, I develop the theology of work by utilizing the framework of the four tasks of practical theology. The descriptive-experiential task of practical theology examines the current status and developmental patterns of theology of work. In the hermeneutic task, a discussion of the work required in modern society and the concept of alternative work are examined. The normative task presents the theology of work as a corresponding theological discourse, comparing and discussing creation-centered theology of work and eschatological theology of work. This paper argues that in today’s situation where understanding of work requires reconsideration and improvement, the theology of Christian work must be complemented with a view of work as a gift of the Holy Spirit, while inheriting a vocational tradition of viewing work. Finally, with regard to practical tasks, it is suggested that the theology of work should be practiced with evangelical, community experiences and missionary callings.

일의 신학에 대한 논의와 관심이 부상하고 있다. 21세기의 상황은 고용의 불안정성과 유동성이 심화되면서, 전통적인 일의 개념을 재정 립해야 할 과제를 안고 있다. 따라서 일의 신학은 학계와 교계에서도 중요한 담론이 되어가고 있다. 본 논문은 전통적 일의 신학이 현재의 상황에 대한 해석과 지침이 되기 위해서 필요한 과제가 무엇인지를 논 의한다. 이를 위해서 필자는 실천신학의 네 가지 과제라는 틀을 활용하 여 일의 신학을 전개한다. 실천신학의 기술적-경험적 과제는 일의 신 학이 모색되는 현황과 발전 양상을 살펴본다. 해석적 과제에서는 현대 사회에서 요구되는 일에 대한 논의와 대안적 일의 개념을 검토한다. 규 범적 과제에서는 이에 대응하는 신학적 담론으로서 일의 신학을 제시 하는데, 창조론적 일의 신학과 종말론적 일의 신학을 비교하며 논의한 다. 본 논문은 일의 이해가 재고와 개선을 요구받는 오늘날의 상황에 서, 기독교적 일의 신학은 소명론적 전통을 계승하되 성령의 은사로서 일을 조망하는 관점으로 보완되어야 할 것을 주장한다. 끝으로, 실용적 과제와 관련해서는 일의 신학이 복음중심적, 공동체적 경험, 선교적 소 명으로 실천되어야 함을 제시한다.
