The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of the final phase of moral development of ‘cosmic perspective’, the essence of the seven stages that Kohlberg introduced in the latter half of his academic journey. Cosmic perspective is the concept of responding to Spinoza’s intuition[scientia intuitiva]. According to Spinoza, intuition is the essence of the mind that is the source and standard of human knowledge and morality under the aspect of time. In the light of this nature of intuition, it fits into the unity virtue of Socrates that Kohlberg wanted to inherit. In this case, the final phase of moral development cannot be defined separately from intuition, and thus cosmic perspective can be said to be the final phase of moral development that should be oriented in moral development and moral education.

본 연구의 목적은 콜버그가 학문적 여정의 후반기에 도입한 7단계의 본질인 ‘우주적 조망’의 도덕발달의 최종 국면으로서의 가능성을 탐색 하는 데에 있다. 우주적 조망은 스피노자의 직관지에 상응하는 개념이 다. 스피노자에 따르면, 직관지는 인간이 시간 계열상에서 형성하는 지 식과 도덕의 원천이자 표준이 되는 정신의 본질이다. 직관지의 이러한 성격에 비추어 볼 때, 그것은 콜버그가 계승하고자 했던 소크라테스의 하나의 덕에 부합하는 것이다. 이 경우, 도덕발달의 최종 국면은 직관 지와 별도로 규정될 수 없으며, 그런 만큼 우주적 조망은 도덕발달과 교육에서 지향해야 할 도덕발달의 최종 국면이라고 할 수 있다.
