The purpose of this study was to explore the need for moral ima gination and to reveal how moral imagination can be cultivated. To this end, I would like to examine the concept of moral imagination c entering on the theory of Johnson and Nussbaum, and suggest conc rete teaching methods. Moral imagination is a complex ability that combines both the domain of moral understanding that is inferred based on one's own experience and the domain of affection that is sympathetic to both oneself and others. In this paper, I would like to suggest teaching and learning methods to cultivate moral imagina tion in relation to the contents of high school "life and ethics" as fol lows. First, it offers the opportunity to develop moral imagination by imagining how it will affect the situation of self and others by sugg esting the moral dilemma situation and role change of Kohlberg. Sec ond, I tried to present a way to develop a moral imagination based on delicate and sympathetic ability through art education. The purpo se is to combine the concept of moral imagination with the discours e of art education and apply it morally.

본 연구는 도덕적 상상력의 필요성을 탐구하고 도덕적 상상력이 어 떻게 함양될 수 있는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 도덕적 상상력 의 개념을 마크 존슨과 너스바움의 이론을 중심으로 하여 살펴보고, 구체적인 교수학습 방안을 제시해보고자 한다. 도덕적 상상력은 자신 만의 체험을 바탕으로 추론하는 도덕적 이해 영역과 자신 및 타인 모 두에게 공감하는 정의적 영역이 모두 합해진 복합적인 능력이다. 본 논문에서는 이 두 영역을 중심으로 도덕적 상상력을 함양하기 위한 교 수학습 방안을 고등학교 생활과 윤리의 내용과 관련지어 다음과 같 이 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 콜버그의 역할채택을 제안하여 자신 및 타 인의 상황에 어떠한 영향을 끼칠지 추론하는 도덕적 상상력 함양 기회 를 제공한다. 둘째, 예술교육을 통해 섬세하고 치밀한 공감능력에 근거 한 도덕적 상상력을 발달시키는 방안을 제시해보고자 하였다.
