The purpose of this study is to analyze the job of PEO (Professional Exhibition Organizers) by using a DACUM(Developing A Curriculum) method. And to analyze similarities and differences of the jobs’ definitions, certificates, duties, tasks, knowledge, skills, behavioral attitudes, tools of PEO for expanding their academic background and finding practical implications for PEO. The DACUM job analysis of PEO is conducted, and two experts of human resources development and a MICE content specialist conduct the task of comparing the duties of the PEO and the PCO. And then, they confirm the content validity of the analysis. First, the job description of PEO reveals 8 duties and 92 tasks. The duties are planning exhibitions, marketing to exhibitors, marketing to buyers and participants, advertising and promotion, official event, exhibition joint event, exhibition operation and post management. Second, the DACUM analysis find the duties, tasks, knowledge, skills, behavioral attitudes and tools of PEO. Finally, we find that the differences and similarities between PEO and PCO and reveal the theoretical and practical implications.

본 연구의 목적은 직무분석 기법인 DACUM(Developing A Curriculum)을 통해 전시기 획사의 직무를 분석하고, 컨벤션기획사와의 개념, 자격증 등의 공통점과 차이점을 찾아 실무적 시사점을 제공하는 것에 있다. 전시기획사 직무분석을 통해 전시기획사의 책무 와 과업 분석, 일반적 지식 및 기술, 행태적 태도, 도구를 도출하였다. 전시기획사와 컨 벤션기획사의 정의, 자격증 등의 유사점과 차이점을 분석하였다. DACUM 워크숍을 통해 직무분석을 실시하고, 인적자원개발 분야와 MICE 분야 박사 로 이루어진 내용전문가 집단을 통해 전시기획사와 컨벤션기획사 직무를 비교 및 분석 하여 내용타당성을 확보하였다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전시기획사의 직무는 8개 책무, 92개 과 업으로 도출되었는데 책무는 기획하기, 참가업체 마케팅, 참관객 바이어 마케팅, 광고 및 홍보, 공식행사, 부대행사, 전시회운영, 사후관리 등으로 이루어졌다. 또한 KSA 분석 을 통해 전시기획사 직무에 준하는 지식과 기술, 행태적 태도를 확인하였다. 마지막으 로 전시기획사와 컨벤션기획사와의 직무 비교 분석을 통해 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 도출하였다.
