The study looked at the Jeongto Shrine-related books published by temples during the Joseon Dynasty. As a result, a total of 26 types of septuagenic surges have been found to be in circulation so far. According to the period of publication, there have been a total of 79 cases of adultery, three times during the early Joseon period, 25 times during the mid-Joseon period and 53 times during the latter half of the Joseon Dynasty. Also, 78 cases of intensive reprinting have been made in the four hundred years between the 16th and 19th centuries. Also classified into publication areas, the number of publications is 19 in Gyeongsang Province, 24 in Jeolla Province, 1 in Gangwon Province, 14 in Gyeonggi Province, 6 in Chungcheong Province, 8 in Pyongan Province, 2 in Hamgyeong Province and 5 in Hwanghae Province, among which 45 publications in Gyeongsang and Jeolla Province account for more than 50 percent of the total. These publication phenomena suggest that the Jeongto Shrine scripture was a trend that was published in many temples across the country without distinction of specific regions or sects.

이 연구는 조선시대에 사찰에서 간행된 정토신앙과 관련된 불서를 고찰 한 것이다. 그 결과 조선시대 전국 사찰에서 간행된 정토신앙과 관련된 불서는 현재까지 모두 26종 의 정토류 불서가 유통되고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 이를 간행 시기별로 분석해 보면, 조선 전기 23회, 조선 후기 56회, 총 79회의 간행을 보이고 있으나, 실은 16세기부터 19세기 사이의 4백 년 동안 76회의 집중적인 개판불사가 이루어졌다. 또한 간행 지역으 로 구분해 보면 전라도 24회, 경상도 19회, 경기도 14회, 평안도 8회, 충청도 6회, 황해도 5회, 함경도 2회, 강원도 1회의 순으로 나타나는데, 이 중 경상도와 전라도의 간행 이 43회로 전체의 50%가 넘는 비율을 차지하고 있다. 이러한 간행 현상으로 보아 당시 정토신앙 경전은 특정 지역 의 구분 없이 전국의 사찰에서 다수 간행되었던 경향으로 보인다.
