Korea Mission of the Presbyterian Church in the United States was based on station. Suncheon Station was finally established in Honam Province in 1913. Unlike other stations, the Suncheon station was built after the fall of the Korean Empire. Although Sunchon Station was established later than other stations, it started systematically with more sufficient manpower and facilities than other Honam stations. Thanks to Watt’s financial support, Suncheon Station was the first station in Korea to have the best facilities with its own electricity and water facilities. Korea Mission of the Presbyterian Church in the United States and Suncheon Station have a close relationship with each other. Like the Mokpo and Gunsan stations, the Suncheon station was assigned by the Korea Mission for facilities, budget, and manpower. Important decisions regarding the Suncheon Station were made at the Annual Mission Meeting subcommittee and plenary session. Suncheon Station has made steady progress in the 1920s. Suncheon Station was able to grow rapidly in a short period of time thanks to its station facilities and personnel based on stable financial support. The Suncheon Station, which is only 4 years old, has achieved the same result as the Gunsan or Mokpo Station, which is 20 years old. In the 1920s and 1930s, Suncheon Station focused on three areas: evangelism, education and medical mission. Since the Suncheon Station was established after the fall of the empire, the power and influence of Sunchon Station was larger than other stations.

미국장로회 한국선교부의 선교정책은 스테이션(station)을 중심으로 진행되었다. 호 남에서 마지막으로 순천 스테이션이 1913년에 설치되었다. 순천 스테이션이 다른 스테 이션들과 다르게 대한제국 멸망 이후에 세워졌다는 점도 순천 스테이션의 특징으로 볼 수 있다. 순천 스테이션은 뒤늦게 설립되었지만 다른 호남의 스테이션들보다 충분한 인 력과 시설들을 가지고 체계적으로 시작했다는 특징을 지니고 있다. 왓츠의 재정지원 덕 으로 순천 스테이션은 전국에서 처음으로 자체 전기와 수도시설을 지닌 가장 시설 좋은 스테이션으로 건설되었다. 미국 남장로회 한국선교부와 순천 스테이션은 상호 밀접한 관계를 지니고 있다. 순천 스테이션은 목포나 군산 스테이션처럼 전도, 시설, 예산, 인력 등을 한국선교부로부터 배정받았다. 순천 스테이션과 관련된 중요한 결정은 선교부 연례회의(Anuual Mission Meeting) 분과위원회와 전체회의에서 결정되었다. 순천 스테이션은 1920년대 들어서 도 지속적인 발전을 이룩했다. 순천 스테이션은 안정적인 재정지원에 근거한 선교 시설과 인력에 힘입어 짧은 기간 동안에 급성장할 수 있었다. 4년밖에 되지 않은 순천 스테이션이 20년 된 군산이나 목포 스테이션 못지않은 성과를 보였다. 1920~30년대 순천 스테이션은 복음전도, 교육 선교, 의료 선교 등 크게 3분야를 중점적으로 추진하였다. 또한 대한제국이 멸망한 이후 에 설립되면서 순천 스테이션의 파급력은 다른 지역에 비해 더 컸다. 이는 군단위에서 최초로 순천노회가 설립되었다는 점에서 잘 확인된다.
