Purpose : This study examines the overview of InsurTech and examines the current trends of domestic and international and its prospects for the domestic industry. Research design, data, methodology : For this study, Fintech and Insurtech's growth status was examined and domestic and foreign Insurtech's use cases were analyzed. Results : InsurTech is a rapidly growing industry and expected to provides consumer-oriented product and various insurance services through blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), and big data technology, to make a difference in the insurance industry. Conclusions : It is expected that the competition of insurance companies will become more intense, so companies should actively use the regulatory sandbox to develop new insurance products, and should pay attention to the possibility of deregulation in the future.

4차 산업혁명 시대에 맞추어 금융(Finance)과 기술(Technology)의 접목을 핀테크(FinTech)라고 한다. 핀테크는 인슈어테크, 자본시장, 자산관리, 디지털뱅킹, 레그테크, 결제 뱅크테크 등 다 양한 분야에 투자되어지는데 보험에 적용한 유형을 인슈어테크(InsurTech)라고 한다. 인슈어테 크는 보험(Insurance)와 기술(Technology)의 결합을 의미하며, 블록체인, 인공지능(AI), 사물인터 넷(IoT), 빅데이터 기술을 통해 소비자 중심의 상품 개발 및 다양한 보험 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 하여 보험업계의 변화를 가져올 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구는 인슈어테크의 개요 및 국내외 현황을 살펴보고 현재 국내의 인슈어테크 동향들과 이를 통해 국내 인슈어테크 산업에 대한 전망을 살펴보고자 한다.
