This article borrowed the concept of “Absolute sings” and “Absolute Marks” which are written in “Painting and Graphics” of Walter Benjamin. These signify not only relationship between God and human which stemmed from Judaism but also represent more strength one-sided communication than communication of human society. Paradoxically, however, it is not a dominant-subordinate relationship but an active obedience relationship. Absolute signs connote the absolute messages on “the plane”. Absolute marks connote the absolute messages in “the space”. All of these are the complementary image to raising the doctrine of a capitalistic society. This article is willing to treat and consider the architectures of contemporary society as the images and spectacles of “The Modern consumption doctrine “ through “Fetishism” which Marx mentioned and “the sign and mark” which Walter Benjamin wrote.

본 논문은 벤야민의 미학 체계를 구성하는 사유의 한 부분으로써 ‘절대 기호’와 ‘절대 마크’라는 개념을 차용한다. 이 두 개념은 유대교 사상에서 비롯된 신과 인간의 소통의 관계를 인간 사회에서 나타내는 ‘기호’와 구분하기 위해 언급되는데, 이 표식의 관계성은 인간과 인간 간에 이루어지는 소통으로써의 맥락에 비하여, 보다 강력한 일 방향 적 성격을 나타낸다. 그러나 역설적으로 이러한 일방향성은 권력 관계 로써의 강압이 아니라, 오히려 자발적 성격이 강력함을 내포한다. ‘절 대기호’는 평면적 특성으로써 절대적인 메시지를 내포하고 ‘절대마크’ 는 공간적 특성을 지닌 채 절대적 메시지를 내포한다. 이 둘은 상호 보완적이며, 이들의 특성은 그 성격상 하나의 담론을 사회 내에 침투 시키는데 뛰어난 능력을 발휘한다. 본고는 이러한 절대기호와 절대 마 크의 개념을 현대 사회의 도시 경관을 이루는 ‘빌딩’ 그리고 그로 인 한 ‘주변 경관’에 적용하여 고찰하고자 한다.
