With the expansion of Taekwondo, the interest in a Taekwondo uniform is also increasing, it is very necessary to develop a Taekwondo uniform that meets the purpose of the segmented Taekwondo event and a current trend. Therefore, this research aims to develope a new Taekwondo uniform, and is a development study on a new Taekwondo training uniform as part of the official Taekwondo uniform development conducted from February to December 2018 under the supervision of Kukkiwon: World Taekwondo Headquarter. The research was conducted in the form of examining the current status of a Taekwondo training uniform through theoretical studies and case studies, and suggested designs by analyzing its problems. The design of the Taekwondo training uniform presented in the first and second stages was evaluated by the task force team of experts and the opinions were collected and reflected in the final design. The direction of the design was firstly set by differentiating the leader’s uniform symbolizing hierarchy and dignity, secondly by expanding to daily-wear emphasizing practicality, and thirdly by applying functional materials and ergonomic design. As a result, two training uniforms for leaders, four for beginners including children, and two for juniors were produced. Through the result report, new designs were positively evaluated for the uniform of the daily-wear concept, the proposal of the leader’s training uniform and children’s with bright colors. In addition, it will be a positive draft for the changing of design based on the diversity of form and design, the increase in the variety of colors and practicality, and the reflection of the current trend. It is expected to contribute to the global competitiveness of the domestic Taekwondo uniform market by laying the foundation that can be activated for the world’s Taekwondo uniform wearers.

태권도의 저변 확대와 함께 태권도복의 중요성 또한 높아지고 있으며 세분화된 태권도의 종목에 따른, 목적에 부합하는 태권도복의 개발이 매우 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 시대의 흐름에 부합하는 새로운 태권도복 을 개발할 필요성을 절감하여 진행된 본 논문은 국기원 주관 하에 2018년 2월부터 12월까지 수행된 공인 태권도 도복 개발의 일부로 신규 태권도 수련복에 관한 개발 연구이다. 연구의 진행은 문헌 연구를 토대로 한 이론적 고찰과 시중 제품 조사를 통한 태권도 수련복의 현황을 살펴보고 지향점과 문제점 등을 분석하여 디자인을 제안하는 형식으로 진행되었다. 1차, 2차를 통해 제시된 태권도 수련복의 디자인은 전문가 집단의 TF 팀을 구성하여 평가한 후 의견을 수렴하여 이를 최종 디자인에 반영하였다. 디자인의 방향은 첫째, 위계 와 위엄을 상징하는 지도자복의 차별화, 둘째, 실용성을 강조한 데일리 웨어로의 확장, 셋째, 기능성 소재와 인체공학적 설계의 적용으로 설정하였으며 그 결과 지도자용 수련복 2점, 아동용을 포함한 유급자용 수련복 4점, 유단자용 수련복 2점이 제작되었다. 결과 보고회를 통해 평가된 신규 수련복 디자인은 데일리 웨어 개념 의 도복과 기존의 차별성 없던 지도자용 수련복의 제안, 또한 밝은 컬러를 적용한 아동용 수련복에 대하여 긍정적인 의견이 수렴되었다. 기존과는 차별화된 형태와 디자인의 다양화, 다채로운 컬러와 실용성의 증가, 현재의 트렌드를 잘 반영하였다는 평가를 토대로 디자인의 변화에 긍정적 초안이 될 것으로 보이며, 태권도 수련복이 제한적 활용에서 벗어나 일상 스포츠, 더 나아가 활동적인 라이프스타일 웨어로서의 기능까지 수행 하며 그 영역을 확장하길 기대한다. 세계의 태권도인이 함께 착용할 수 있도록 활성화될 수 있는 토대를 마련 하고 국내 태권도복 시장의 세계적 경쟁력을 갖추는 데에도 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다.
