The purpose of this study is to develop substantive theories by deeply understanding the process of peer relationships in multi-cultural family through elementary sports club activities. The scope of the study participants was a population of multicultural families who participated in the sports club activities of elementary school in Gyeongsangbuk-do. A total of nine participants were selected for the elementary sports club activity program. Data collection was conducted in-depth interview and participation observation, and data analysis was reviewed among members of Stage 1 literature review, Stage 2 preliminary investigation, Stage 3 in-depth interview, participation observation, Stage 4 open-coating, axis coding, choice codeing, and Level 5 in the application of the evidence analysis method of Strauss & Corbin (1998). This led to 41 concepts, 11 sub-categories and 6 upper categories, and a paradigm model was formed to define the relationship between each concept and the categories to derive the meaning of the peer-to-peer formation process of multicultural students through activities in elementary school sports clubs.

이 연구는 초등학교 스포츠클럽 활동을 통해 다문화가정 학생의 또래관계 형성과정을 심층적으로 이해함으로서 실체적 이론을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구참여자의 범위는 경상북도에 위치한 초등학교 스포츠클럽 활동에 참여하 고 있는 다문화가정 학생을 모집단으로 설정하였다. 연구 참여자는 초등학교 스포츠클럽 활동 프로그램(축구, 배드민턴) 에 참여하는 총 9명을 선정하였다. 구체적인 참여자 선정 기준은 첫째, 성별(남자 6명, 여자 3명), 학년(5학년 5명, 6학년 4명), 스포츠클럽 활동에 2년 이상 경험한 학생을 선정하였다. 자료수집은 심층면담과 참여관찰을 실시하였으며, 자료분 석은 Strauss & Corbin (1998)의 근거 이론적 분석 방법을 적용하여 1단계 문헌 고찰, 2단계 예비조사, 3단계 심층면담, 참여관찰, 4단계 개방코팅, 축코딩, 선택코딩, 5단계 구성원간의 검토를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 자료 분석 결과 41개의 개념, 11개의 하위 범주, 6개의 상위 범주가 도출하였으며, 각 개념들과 범주 들간의 관계를 구명하기 위해 패러다임모형 을 구성하여 초등학교 스포츠클럽 활동을 통해 다문화가정 학생의 또래관계 형성과정의 의미를 도출하였다.
