The study aims to analyze the current status of research on Vietnamese classical prose and Korean classical prose related to Vietnam that have been conducted in Korea since 1980, and to seek future direction of research. The results of the Vietnamese classical prose research that has been conducted in Korea were divided into such areas as translation of the Vietnamese classical prose, Vietnamese folktales and comparative folktales, and the Vietnamese classical prose recorded in Chinese and Tsunom. It also talked about how to revive the relationship between Korea and Vietnam through a review of Korean classics related to Vietnam. Three suggestions were made for future research directions and tasks. First, to use Vietnam’s classical prose as a material for understanding and education of Vietnamese culture in Korean society, second, to discuss in-depth what is the excellent literary tradition and spirit contained in Vietnamese literature, third, in Vietnam classical prose and Korean classical prose related to Vietnam, to find the two countries' historical ties and friendly relations, and representative characters and stories, and utilize them for multicultural education and Asian content planning. This will enable exchanges between the two countries in various ways, including understanding each other's culture and communicating with the civil society.

이 연구는 1980년 이후 한국에서 진행되고 있는 베트남 고전산문의 연구현황 및 베트남 관련 한국 고전산문에 대한 연구현황을 분석하고, 앞으로의 연구방향에 대해 제언하였다. 그동안 한국에서 진행되어 온 베트남 고전산문 연구의 성과는 베트남 고전산문의 번역, 베트남 구비설화 및 비교문학, 한문 및 쯔놈으로 기록된 베트남 고전산문 등의 분야로 나눠 고찰하였다. 또한 베트남 관련 한국 고전산문에 대한 연구사 검토를 통해 한국과 베트남의 교류와 우호정신을 어떻게 되살릴 것인가에 대해 이야기하였다. 앞으로의 연구방향 및 과제에 대해서는, 서사적 완성도 높은 베트남 옛이야기의 우선적 번역, 베트남문학의 전통과 정신에 대한 심도 있는 논의, 고전산문을 활용한 양국의 문화소통 등을 제언하였다. 이를 통해 한국-베트남 양국이 서로의 문화를 이해하고, 다양한 방면에서 교류가 활성화되기를 기대한다.
