Today's global trend is characterized by a polarized society in politics, economy, society and culture. Quite different from the hopeful world of peace for mankind with sufficient means for subsistence that mankind has always hoped for. It cannot be denied that mankind is continually forced to take part in an endless competition and that the paradigm of human life is continually accelerated, which weakens the situation of the weakest. In this desperate state of reality the Christians must offer an awareness and hope for a rewarding life which can really hope mankind. Therefore this paper explores our essential understanding of human bing and the consequences resulting from for the practice of diaconia in the tradition of trying to be justified, that is, to be accepted by God in the tradition of Protestantism. In the Protestant tradition, believers explored the life of restoring the human respect of the socially weak as the image of God. In the course of development of Christianity the disciples of Jesus have successfully shown that diakonia can always give hope in times of darkness and of dire need. In this tradition the real importance of living a Christian life is connected with based on this understanding. As followers of Jesus Christ Christians in the image of God must be diacons in order to serve their neighbours. Without diaconical work nobody can hope to be a follower of Jesus and being a representative of those justified believers who are the core of the real church. As a consequence the result of this study may support the contribution of Korean Christians to bring about living together with strong and weak people in peace and mutual understanding.

오늘날 세계적인 추세는 오랫동안 인본주의자들이 기대했던 인류 평화와 생명존중 에 대한 희망찬 세계와는 다르게 그 어느 때보다도 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 등 전 영 역에 있어서 극심한 양극화현상을 보이고 있다. 이로 인해 도처에서 점점 더 인류를 무한 경쟁으로 내몰아 가고 있으며 극소수의 강자를 위해 대다수의 약자를 희생시키 는 인간 삶의 패러다임을 가속화시켜가고 있음을 부인할 수 없다. 이러한 절망적인 현실상황에서 특히 기독교인들은 인류에게 진정으로 도움이 될 수 있는 인식과 삶의 희망을 제시할 필요가 있는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 인간에 대한 본질적인 이해와 개신교 전통 속에 나타난 칭의론 적 인간이해에 기초한 디아코니아실천에 대한 연구를 하였다. 즉, 개신교 전통 속에서 신앙인들이 사회적 약자들을 돌봄으로 하나님의 형상으로 인간존엄을 회복시켜온 삶 을 탐색하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 따르면, 기독교가 발전하는 과정에서 예수 그리스 도의 제자들은 항상 암울한 시대적인 현실 속에서 디아코니아실천을 통해 희망을 주 는 존재임을 성공적으로 증명해 주었다. 예수그리스도의 제자들은 칭의를 입은 하나 님 형상으로서 이웃을 섬기는 자인 ‘디아코노스’ 존재이다. 특히 개신교 전통은 이러한 인간이해에 기초해서 신앙인의 디아코니아 삶을 중요하게 연결시켰음을 발견하였 다. 그래서 교회와 사회를 개혁한 칭의 신앙인으로서 디아코니아실천이 없이는 진정 한 예수제자가 될 수 없고, 디아코니아활동이 없는 교회는 참다운 교회가 될 수 없음 이 입증되었다. 그러므로 이 연구의 결과가 한국 개신교회와 신앙인들에게 칭의 신앙 에 기초한 디아코니아존재로서 인간이해를 각인시키며, 세상에서 디아코니아실천을 통해 상호이해 속에서 평화와 강자와 약자가 함께 더불어 사는 삶에 도전과 희망을 주는 기여가 될 것으로 기대한다.
