The study sought to understand the processes of daily learning experiences that appeared during the job search process for the baby boomer generation who had worked for the marine industry for a long time but were forced to retire early due to the abrupt failure of the company. Based on this, Strauss and Corbin (1998) presented an approach to the seven involuntary early retirement baby boomers working in the shipping industry to propose a type of daily learning for the generations of involuntary retirement babies. Research has shown that 125 concepts, 35 sub-categories, and 11 categories were derived for the day-to-day learning experiences of baby boomers during the course of their job searching. The key categories were the discovery of a new centre of life, and the results of the process analysis were ‘ Face to Face ’, ‘ Challenge to Be ’, ‘ Overcoming ’ and ‘ Redefine ’. In addition, three basic theories on the ‘ daily learning of involuntary early retirement baby boomers ’ were ‘ self - realization learning ’, ‘ learning to economic value ’ and ‘ learning to social face ’. In addition, discussion for the involuntary early retirement baby boomer based on the results of the process analysis data, and suggestion for further study was provided.

본 연구는 해운산업의 오랫동안 근무해왔으나, 갑작스러운 회사의 파산으로 인해 비자 발적 조기퇴직을 맞이하게 된 베이비부머 세대들의 구직과정에서 나타난 일상학습경험의 과정을 이해하고자 시행되었다. 이를 기초로 비자발적 조기퇴직 베이비부머세대들의 일상 학습유형을 제안하기 위해 해운산업에 종사하던 비자발적 조기퇴직 베이비부머 7명을 대 상으로 Strauss와Corbin(1998)이 제시한 근거이론 접근방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 구직과정에서 나타나는 베이비부머의 일상학습경험에 대하여 125개의 개념 과 35개의 하위범주와 11개의 범주가 도출되었다. 핵심범주로는 ‘삶의 새로운 중심찾기’ 를 찾아내었으며, 과정분석의 결과는 ‘직시 및 수용단계’, ‘도전 단계’, ‘극복단계’, ‘재정립 단계’로 정리되었다. 또한 ‘비자발적 조기퇴직 베이비부머 세대들의 일상학 습’에 대한 근거이론으로는 ‘자아실현 학습형’, ‘경제적 가치 지향 학습형’, ‘사회 적 체면 지향 학습형’ 3가지 유형을 제시하였다. 또한 과정분석의 결과 근거자료에서 도출한 내용을 근거로 비자발적 조기퇴직 베이비부머를 위한 논의와 함께 후속연구에 대 한 제언을 제공하였다.
