This paper examines the characteristics of Gyeongsang-dialect and its preservation plan. The most distinctive feature of the Gyeongsangdialect is the tone. The special rhythmic constraints of the Western Gyeongsang-dialect will emphasize the power. They can't go a step without considering tone. We consider the origin of the ending ‘-a’ and the underlying forms of ‘t-irregular verbs’, including the vowel raising and glottalization. Furthermore, glide formation in declension and descriptions of the original noun sentence patterns of the Altaic-family follow. For the preservation of dialects, more attention should be paid to the selection of informants. In addition, investigators should have the capacity to understand dialects properly. Then you can draw words from 1500 years ago. Regarding the conservation of dialects, mention is made of the need for surveys of smaller regional dialects. It also emphasizes the necessity to stimulate the curiosity about the dialect by providing a voice support system to the attractions in each region. This will also contribute to revitalization of tourism. It is also recommended that various policies be put in place so that those who speak their own dialect properly and often are not shrunk.

이 논문은 경상도 방언의 특징과 그 보존 방언에 대해 살펴본다. 경상도 방언의 가장 큰 특징은 성조이다. 성조를 고려하지 않고는 한 걸음도 나갈 수 없음을 피력한다. 경상도 서부 지역의 특별한 제약이 강력하게 작용함을 강조한다. 고모음화, ㄹ 뒤에서의 경음화를 포함하여, 어미 ‘-아’의 기원이라든가 ㄷ 변칙동사의 단일 기저형 설정에 대해 살펴본다, 나아가 곡용에서의 활음화, 알타이어의 기원적인 명사문에 대한 서술이 이어진다. 방언의 보존을 위해서는 무엇보다 제보자 선정에 좀 더 주의를 기울일 필요가 있다. 아울 러 조사자도 방언형을 제대로 이해할 수 있는 역량을 갖추어야 한다. 그래야 1500년 전의 말들도 이끌어 낼 수 있게 된다. 방언의 보존과 관련하여 면 단위 방언 조사의 필요성을 언급한다. 또한 각 지역의 명소에 음성지원시스템을 구비하여 관광객에게 방언에 대한 호기 심을 자극할 필요성이 있음을 강조한다. 이는 관광 활성화에도 기여할 것이다. 아울러 고유 의 방언형을 제대로 구사하는 이들이 위축되지 않도록 여러 정책을 펴는 것도 당부한다.
