Most Korean architectural cultural assets are wooden cultural assets and are vulnerable to fire. As experienced by the loss of National Treasures due to forest fires in 2005 and Sungnyemun fire due to arson in 2008, various fire safety measures should be taken in consideration of the site characteristics, architecture, and material characteristics. Therefore, by analyzing the contents of fire response research conducted since the 1980s, the mid- and long-term research tasks for future fire response were derived in 2020~2030. The following research tasks were derived by gathering opinions from fire, firefighting, cultural architecture, and IoT experts. As a result of this research, the strategic consolidation of research projects established five research strategies including policy, fire prevention, preparedness and mitigation, response, and foundation, and a total of 45 research projects were derived.

우리나라 건축문화재는 대부분 목조문화재로 화재에 취약성을 가지고 있다. 2005년 산불로 인한 낙산사 소실과 2008년 방화에 의한 숭례문 화재 등 국보문화재의 소실의 경험한 바와 같이 건축문화재 현장 특 성 및 건축, 재료 특성을 고려한 다양한 화재안전 방안이 강구되어야 한다. 이에 1980년대 이후부터 수행 한 화재대응 연구내용들을 분석하여 향후 화재대응을 위한 2020년부터 2030년까지의 중·장기 연구과제 를 도출하였다. 화재, 소방, 문화재건축 및 사물인터넷 전문가 의견수렴을 통한 향후 수행할 연구과제를 도출하였다. 본 연구수행의 결과로 연구과제의 전략적 접근은 정책, 화재예방, 대비 및 완화, 대응, 기초 등 5개 연구전략을 수립하였고 총 45개의 연구과제를 도출하였다.
