This study was conducted based on the recognition that the concept of cultural heritage is gradually expanded and the system needs to be changed and responded to. The purpose of this study is to examine the change of institutions for the management and utilization of cultural heritage at the urban level, centering on the French case. The study focused on representative cultural heritage-related policies from the mid-19th century until the concept of historical monuments in France. The content of this study is to examine the process of changing the concept of cultural heritage in France and its corresponding cultural heritage system. In addition, the implications for establishing the cultural heritage related system in Korea and the expansion of the concept of cultural heritage will be derived.

본 연구는 최근 문화유산의 개념이 점차 확대되면서 이와 관련한 제도의 변화 및 대응이 필요하다 는 인식을 바탕으로, 도시적 차원에서 문화유산의 관리와 활용을 위한 관련제도의 변화와 그 내용을 프랑스 사례를 중심으로 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구는 프랑스에서 역사기념물의 개념이 탄생 한 19세기 중반 이후 최근까지의 대표적인 문화유산 관련정책을 대상으로 하였으며, 연구의 내용은 프랑스에서 문화유산의 개념이 변화하는 과정과 그에 대응하여 변화된 문화유산 관련제도에 대해 고 찰하고 최근의 문화유산 개념 및 관련제도의 경향에 대한 시사점을 도출하는 것이다.
