The purpose of this study was to explore predictor factors for the successful career reconstruction of out-of-school adolescents by synthesizing, comparing and analyzing qualitative studies of out-of- school adolescents. As a result of analyzing these studies, the concept of career adaptability was selected as a predictor factor for the successful career reconstruction of out-of-school adolescents. Therefore phenomena related to the career adaptability of out-of-school adolescents were investigated in this study. To be specific, the phenomena were analyzed in terms of the sub-factors(interest, control, curiosity and confidence) of career adaptability. And this study found that while a lot of out-of-school adolescents faced career problems and suffered pain, they reconstructed their career with interest in studies and employment(interest) and with a will for career choice(control) by having a realistic career exploration opportunity for the future(curiosity) and by gaining career achievement experiences(confidence). On the contrary, many out-of-school adolescents had difficulty in reconstructing their career as they were neither interested in career(interest) nor had a will for career development(control), being devoid of career exploration activities(curiosity) and achievement experiences(confidence). And the career adaptability of the out-of-school adolescents was found to have been under the influence of their experiences and environments. Finally, how to support out-of-school adolescents in relation to their career was discussed on the basis of the findings of this study.

이 연구는 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 한 질적 연구물들을 종합, 비교, 분석하여 이들 연구 물에 나타난 학교 밖 청소년의 성공적 진로 재구성 예측요인 탐색을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 결과, 학교 밖 청소년의 학교 밖 청소년의 성공적 진로 재구성 예측요인으로 진로적응력 개 념이 도출되었다. 이에 이 연구에서는 학교 밖 청소년들의 진로적응력 관련 현상을 살펴보았 으며, 구체적으로 진로적응력 관련 현상을 진로적응력 하위요인별(관심, 통제, 호기심 및 자 신감)로 탐색하였다. 이를 통해 이 연구에서는 많은 학교 밖 청소년이 당면한 진로문제/고통 속에서 학업 및 취업에 대한 관심(관심)과 진로선택 의지를 가지고(통제), 미래를 위한 현실적 진로 탐색 기회와(호기심) 진로 성취 경험(자신감)을 통해 진로를 재구성해 나가는 것으로 나 타났다. 반면, 많은 학교 밖 청소년은 진로에 대한 관심(관심)과 진로계발 의지를 가지지 못 하고(통제), 진로 탐색 활동(호기심) 및 성취 경험(자신감)에서 배제된 채 진로 재구성에 어려 움을 겪기도 하였다. 그리고 이러한 학교 밖 청소년의 진로적응력은 학교 밖 청소년의 경험 및 환경에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구결과를 바탕으로 학교 밖 청 소년의 진로 지원방안에 대해 논의하였다.
