This essay is an attempt. Unlike the format of existing papers, this essay is that focuses on reading and writing a few books related to recently published education. What I want to research in this article is the problem of literacy that our education is missing. Literacy is the foundation of education and the basics of life. In the knowledge and information society, the importance of knowledge and information is emphasized, while the production and distribution of it is threatening existing education. The ease of access and search itself is causing a crisis and change in education. While literacy is important and information becomes more accessible, it can be overlooked. In addition, our education has a strong mood that does not emphasize learning itself, because competition for entrance examination and overheat of private education. The discussion of opportunity gaps is often overlooked. In that sense, Education can be said to be world of non-hospitable to education. I wanted to explore newly the meaning of the education that underlies the changing world.

이 에세이는 하나의 시도이다. 기존 논문의 형식과는 다르게, 최근에 출판된 교육과 관련된 몇몇 단행본을 집중적으로 읽고 쓴 에세이 형식의 글이다. 이 글에서 탐색하고자 한 것은 우리교육이 놓치고 있는 문해의 문 제이다. 문해는 교육의 기본이자 삶의 기초이다. 지식정보사회에서는 지식과 정보의 중요성이 강조되는 한편, 그 생산과 유통이 많아지면서 기존 교육을 위협하고 있다. 접속과 검색이 쉬워지는 것 자체가 교육의 위기와 변화를 초래하는 것이다. 문해가 중요한 한편 정보에 접근하기 쉬워지면서, 그로 인해 문해는 간과될 우려도 있다. 아울러 우리 교육은 입시경쟁과 사교육의 과열로 인해 배움 자체를 강조하지 않는 분위기도 강하다. 기 회 격차에 대한 논의도 간과되기 쉽다. 그런 의미에서 교육을 환대하지 않은 세계의 교육이라고 할 수 있다. 변화하는 세계의 토대가 되는 교육의 의미를 새롭게 탐색해보고자 했다.
