The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between mentoring perceived by athletes, sports confidence and athletic persistence. To this end, a total of 270 data were collected using the colony sampling method of high school and university athletes registered as Korean athletes in 2019, and 250 data were used for the final analysis. Based on this, SPSS 23.0 and AMOS were used. Using 21.0, the following conclusions were drawn from the structural equation model analysis. First, mentoring perceived by athletes was found to have a negative effect on sports confidence. Second, mentoring perceived by athletes was found to have a negative effect on athletic persistence. Third, the sports confidence of athletes was found to have a positive effect on exercise intention. Based on the above results, it was concluded that athletes can improve their intention to exercise through sports confidence.

이 연구는 육상선수가 지각한 지도자의 멘토링과 스포츠자신감 및 운동지속의사의 관계를 규명에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2019년 대한체육회에 육상선수로 등록된 고등학교 및 대학교 선수를 모집단으로 집락표집방법을 이용하여 총 270명의 자료를 수집하여 이중 최종분석에는 250명의 자료를 이용하였으며, 이를 기초로 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 21.0 을 사용하여 구조방정식모형 분석을 통하여 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 육상선수가 지각한 지도자의 멘토링은 스포츠자신 감에 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 육상선수가 지각한 지도자의 멘토링은 운동지속의사에 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 육상선수의 스포츠자신감은 운동지속의사에 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 결과를 통해 육상선수들은 스포츠자신감을 통하여 운동지속의사를 증진시킬 수 있다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
