Girard says that the desires of all human beings are not voluntary, but imitative desires mediated by someone. This is because there is a metaphysical desire to elevate the value of one's existence by imitating a model that is superior to one's own. But the victory through doping is the illusion of metaphysical desire due to the paralysis of judgment and the real sense of perception that sports should be played in rules and fair play. Athletes should therefore be aware of reflective thinking and practice of the metaphysical illusion of imitation desire. At this time, the possibility to control the practical doping act of bloated desire is formed. Along with this, in connection with the desire for victory of leaders and athletes, "doping sensitivity" must be nurtured through a Humanistic approach to anti-doping education.

본 연구는 일본의 소설가 히가시노 게이고(東野圭吾)의 『아름다운 흉기(美しき凶器)』라는 소설을 통해 스포츠 경쟁에서 승리를 위한 도핑은 욕망주체(선수)를 파멸로 이끄는 형이상학적 욕망의 환상임을 지라르의 “삼각형의 욕망”을 통해 살펴본 것이다. 지라르는 모든 인간들이 가지고 있는 욕망이 자발적인 것이 아니라 누군가에 의해 매개된 모방욕망이 라고 말하고 있다. 누군가를 모방하는 욕망, 누군가가 가진 것을 소유하고 싶은 모방욕망의 이면에는 자신보다 우월한 모델을 모방함으로 자기 존재 가치를 상승시키려는 형이상학적 욕망이 있기 때문이다. 그러나 도핑을 통한 승리는 스포츠 가 룰(rule)과 페어 플레이속에서 이루어져야 한다는 인식의 현실 감각과 판단력의 마비로 인한 형이상학적 욕망의 환상 이다. 따라서 선수들은 모방 욕망의 형이상학적 환상에 대한 반성적 사고와 실천의 자각을 하여야 한다. 이 때 비대한 자기 욕망의 실천인 도핑 행위를 제어할 가능성이 형성된다.
