이 연구는 태권도를 수련하는 초등학생들의 부모의 양육형태가 자아존중감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 확인하고 자 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 서울 지역에 위치한 태권도장에서 태권도를 수련하고 있는 초등학생 수련생들 383명에 게 설문을 실시한 자료를 수집해 분석하였다. 설문을 통해 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 사용하여 요인 간에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 확인하기 위해 기술통계, 빈도분석(Frequencies), 독립표본 t-검증(t-test), 일원변량분석(One-way ANOVA), 다중회귀분석(Multiple regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 모든 통계치의 유의수준은 .05로 설정하여 분 석한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 태권도를 수련하는 초등학생의 개인적 특성에 따른 부모 양육태도의 하위 변인의 차이를 분석한 결과 성별에서는 일부 요인에서 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 연령에 따른 부모의 양육형태에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 태권도를 수련하는 초등학생의 개인적 특성에 따른 자아존중감의 하위 변인의 차이를 분석한 결과 성별에서는 유의한 차이가 나타지 않았으며, 연령에서는 사회적 자아에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 태권도를 수련하는 초등학생들의 부모의 양육형태가 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 초등학교 수련생들이 지 각하는 부모의 양육형태의 하위변인들이 자아존중감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
