The Warring States period in ancient China made many claims by philosophers. Among them, Chuang-tzu wrote Chuang-tzu. This book has a lot of unusual things like Aesop's Fables. On the other hand, Chuang-tzu also described a large amount for Disabled. This can be found in the idea of Chuang-tzu's Disabled. Disabled in Chuang-tzu is described as a better person than Non-disabled. In Chuang-tzu, Confucian saint Confucius admired the virtue of the disabled and asked him to learn. Chuang-tzu did not view obstacles as obstacles. Rather, the obstacle is reversed as a stepping stone and described in Chuang-tzu. It is Chuang-tzu's paradox that disability is 'not wrong, but different', and disability 'if there is a difference, but do not discriminate'. 春秋戰國時代는 많은 사상가들의 다양한 주장(百家爭鳴)을 펼쳤다. 그중, 道家學派에 분류되는 莊子는 자신의 주장을『莊子󰡕로 남겼다. 󰡔莊子󰡕는 寓言, 重言, 巵言로 이루어져 있으며, 이솝우화(Aesop’s Fables)와 같이 특이한 내용 이 많다. 그런데 莊子는 障礙人에 대해서도 특별하게 기술하였는데, 이 기술내용으로 莊子의 障礙人觀을 엿볼 수 있다. 󰡔莊子󰡕에 등장하는 障礙人은 비장애인보다 더 뛰어난 사람으로 그려져 있다. 󰡔莊子󰡕에는 儒家의 聖人인 孔子마저도 德이 있는 障礙人을 흠모하여 스승으로 삼으려 한다고 기술하였다. 莊子는 障礙를 걸림돌이 아니라 디딤돌로 역전시켜 󰡔莊子󰡕 에 등장시켰다. 그 이유는 障礙는 ‘틀린 것이 아니라 다른 것’이며, 또 障礙는 ‘차이는 있어도 차별을 하지 말라’는 莊子의 力說이다. ‘차이가 있다고 차별을 두는 것이 틀린 것’이며, 障礙는 ‘극복의 대상이지 차별의 대상이 아님’을 周知시키고 있다. 莊子는 障礙를 가진 사람도 비장애인과 같이 宇宙 森羅萬象의 共存自로서 서로 소통하며 살아가는 絶對自由의 존재 이며, 같은 인간끼리 편견과 차별을 없애고 서로 존중하면서, 平等的 共存과 尊嚴의 인간으로서 함께 존재하고 또 그렇게 사는 것이 당연하다고 여겼다.
