This study is to examine the proximity of thoughts of post-materialist science based on the correlation between science and consciousness, and Donghak which contains the essence of life thought. The invisible quantum world is not just a world confined to the micro world of quantum physics, but it is a world of our own true self, a realm of ‘inner self’, and is linked together with the macro world we live in. The proximity of thoughts of post-materialist science and Donghak lies in the perception of the holistic nature of life. Donghak’s view of life that transcends the dichotomous thinking system is essentially in line with the quantum mechanical view that the quantum system has nonseparability or nonlocality and is wave, while at the same time having the properties as particles complementarily. Also, the God rediscovered by post-materialist science is essentially in line with the Hanul(天) of Donghak. This attempt to connect science with spirituality will create a synergy effect that involves a profound philosophical and scientific understanding of life through the mutual feedback process, which is the approach to spirituality through science and the approach to science through spirituality. The true self is the Hanul(天), the quantum God, and the ‘I’ as the universal reality, that is, the life and the truth.

본 연구는 과학과 의식의 접합에 기초한 포스트 물질주의 과학과 생명사상의 진수(眞髓)를 담고 있는 동학의 사상적 근친성에 대해 고찰하기 위한 것이다. 보이지 않는 양자 세계는 양자물리학의 미시세계에만 국한된 세계가 아니라 바로 우리 자신의 참자아의 세계이며 ‘내적 자아’의 영역이고 우리가 살고 있는 거시세계와 하나로 연결되어 있다. 포스트 물질주의 과학과 동학의 사상적 근친성은 생명의 전일적 본질에 대한 인식에 있다. 이분법적 사유체계를 초월한 동학의 생명관은 양자계가 비분리성(nonseparability) 또는 비국소성(nonlocality)을 갖고 파동인 동시에 입자로서의 속성을 상보적으로 지닌다고 보는 양자역학적 관점과 본질적으로 상통한다. 또한 포스트 물질주의 과학에 의해 재발견된 신은 동학의 한울(天)과 본질적으로 상통한다. 이러한 과학과 영성의 접합에 대한 시도는 과학을 통한 영성으로의 접근과 영성을 통한 과학으로의 접근이라는 상호 피드백 과정을 통해 생명에 대한 심오한 철학적·과학적 이해를 수반하는 시너지 효과를 창출할 것이다. 참자아가 곧 한울이며 ‘양자 신(quantum God)’이고 보편적 실재로서의 ‘나’, 즉 생명이고 진리이다.
