The present study aims to investigate a psychological mechanism by which internalized shame influence aggressive behavior in university students. In doing this, it is hypothesized that anger rumination would mediate the relationship between internalized shame and aggression A total of 248 college students participated and completed the internalized shame Scale, K-anger Rumination Scale, and Aggression Questionnaire Korean Version. The results of this study are as follows. First, the internalized shame, anger rumination and aggression sub-factor all showed statistically significant correlation. Second, the relationship between internal shame and aggression was mediate by anger rumination. More specifically, anger rumination showed a full mediating effect on the relationship between internalized shame, physical aggression and verbal aggression, and a partial mediating effect on the relationship between anger and hostility. Finally, the significance and limitations of the study were discussed based on the results of this study.

본 연구는 내면화된 수치심이 공격성에 미치는 경로에서 분노반추의 매개효과를 검증함으로 서 내면화된 수치심이 공격적 행동에 이르는 심리적 기제를 살피기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하 여, 대학생 248명을 대상으로 내면화된 수치심, 분노반추, 공격성 척도를 사용하여 설문조사 를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내면화된 수치심과 분노반추, 공격성의 하위 요인은 모두 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 내면화된 수치심 과 공격성의 관계에서 분노반추는 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 보다 구체적으로는, 분노 반추는 내면화된 수치심과 신체적 공격성 및 언어적 공격성의 관계에서는 완전 매개 효 과를 나타냈고, 분노감과 적대감간의 관계에서는 부분 매개의 효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났 다. 마지막으로, 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.
