초록

영어

Political Pop Art was newly born on the 1990's due to curator resenting. In the late 1950's the British and the Americans created pop art, and by coloring a chinese theme onto pop art, ‘Political Pop Art’ was able to be found in the grand scheme of post modernism. Substantive works corresponding to the term political pop art were presented at the 1st Guangzhou Biennale in 1992. Of course, pop art came to China in 1985. But the Resenting rejected all pop art movements between 1985 and 1990 and created the term. According to Resenting, Chinese pop art before political pop art was born, was misread when Chinese artists identified pop art with “dada”. According to the fact, true Chinese pop art is only possible beyond the interpretation of such radical and misleading pop art. Political pop art, defined by Resenting and known throughout the world, has been disseminated in a particularly typical and intensive way. It was limited to character-oriented pop styles such as Mao or peasant soldiers. This style actually transformed the art of propaganda art in a new direction. However, the important part of this phrase is that art, which was only a tool for expressing political ideology, was reborn as a pop art work by an individual artist. In other words, the style, which was not the art of the individual in the socialist period, was transformed into the an artist's “work” in the post-socialist period. Thus, ‘political pop art’ can be said to have been the first signal to show the direction of contemporary art in post-socialism China by completely placing the literary point of the past socialist era on the capitalist line.
