Movie is a masterwork of a 2018 period film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos that examines well-captured the distorted relationship between the veiled power struggles of the 18th-century England court. The artistic achievement of the film is based largely on the fine performances of three actresses, Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. Among them, Olivia Colman, acting Queen's multifaceted character, overturned public expectations and won the 2019 Academy Award for Best Actress. This study analyzes the character of and examines the cinematic techniques used to make it appear on screen. As a representative method, we will focus on the use of ‘wide-angle lens’ to distort and exaggerate space and psychology also looking at 180-degree panning, lighting style, and angle of the camera. Through this, the focus is on finding out how Mise-en-scene assists and enhances the performance of actual actors. Cinematography and Mise-en-scene are not meant by themselves, but only by looking at how they function in the narrative of the film can be used to understand their overall meaning and value. Therefore, we have to look closely at how cinematography and Mise-en-scene are combined with the narrative structure of the story in text and the actor's acting actually revealed. This study can be said to focus on the combination. In addition, I briefly summarized the characteristics of the wide-angle lens. I think it will be helpful for readers who are familiar with cinematic acting but lack knowledge of cinematography and optical technology.

영화 <더 페이버릿 : 여왕의 여자>는 요르고스 란티모스 감독의 2018년 작품으로써 18세기 영국 궁정 의 권력암투와 인물들의 일그러진 관계를 잘 포착해낸 수작이다. 이 영화의 예술적 성취는 올리비아 콜 먼, 엠마 스톤, 레이첼 바이스 세 명의 여배우들의 훌륭한 연기에 상당한 기반을 두고 있다. 그 중 올리비 아 콜먼은 앤 여왕의 다면적인 성격을 연기하며 2019년 아카데미 여우주연상을 수상하였다. 본 연구는 영화 <더 페이버릿 : 여왕의 여자>의 캐릭터와 연기자들의 분석하고 이를 스크린에 잘 드러내기 위해 사 용된 영화 기술에 대해 살펴보는 연구이다. 그 대표적 방법으로 공간과 심리를 왜곡하고 과장하기 위한 ‘광각렌즈의 사용’을 가장 중요하게 다룰 것이며 180도 패닝, 조명 스타일, 카메라의 구도 등을 살펴보고 자 한다. 영화의 촬영과 미장센은 그것 자체만으로 의미화 될 수 없으며 해당 영화의 내러티브에서 어떻 게 기능하는지를 살펴야 그 전체적인 의미와 가치를 파악할 수 있다. 이를 위해서는 촬영과 미장센이 활 자로 된 시나리오상의 이야기 구조, 실체적으로 드러난 배우의 연기와 어떻게 결합하는지를 면밀하게 들 여다봐야만 한다. 본 연구는 그 결합성에 주목한 연구라 할 수 있다. 이에 더해 광각렌즈의 특성과 화면 에 미치는 영향에 대해 본론과는 별도의 항목으로 간단하게 정리하였다. 기존의 영화 연기에 대해서는 충분한 지식과 경험을 가지고 있으나 영화의 촬영과 광학 기술에 대한 지식이 부족한 독자가 이 논문을 이해하는데 도움이 될 것이라 생각한다.
