Koguryo occupied Biryu State, ruled by King Song Yang in the B.C.36 year of King Dongmyong 2, the year after its foundation, and was annexed to Damuldo. This Biryu State is generally viewed as such a place as Sonobu or Yeonnobu or Yeonnabu. The reason is that King Song Yang of Biryu State has similar pronunciation to Sono. But Song Yang is the name of King of Biryu State and cannot be named. Therefore, it is wrong to call Biryu State and places like Sonobu or Yeonnobu. King Daemusin demoted existing Bujangs in Biryubu to commoners in 32 A.D. (King Daemusin 15) and appointed Chubalso as Biryubu. The Biryubu and the occupied Biryu State of King Dongmyong University are the same place: Koguriyo has not known when the former Biryu State was located, but has been arranged into positions such as arranging for Biryubu and dispatching Bujang.
