Hwang Jeong-wook descended from JangSoo Hwang family of Hwang-hee in the Joseon Dynasty. He was a scholar with political power, served in a variety of the main position as he passed in the 13th year of King Myeongjong's reign. in the 17th year of King Sunjo's reign. but also he promoted a royal forces recruitment during the Japanese Invasion in the year Imjin. Furthermore, he sought to overcome the crisis of the nations which fell into trouble. After 7 years of ancestors, the party strife was very complicated since party east and west started breaking up. When Jicheon served in a war as a prisoner, he eventually ended his political life as he was exiled from the opposition of the party strife. As well as, He became the most scapegoat on the extreme circumstances. Like a mirror shines on the history of the future, the reason why we should look back on Jicheon’s life and awareness of the actual as he were victims of the conflict of crisis.

조선시대 명문인 장수황씨 황희의 후손으로 학문과 정치력을 겸비한 학자 관료 황정욱은 명종 13년에 급제하여 청요직을 두루 역임하였다. 언관직 수행 당시 당면 현안의 해결을 위한 구체적이고 예리한 정책 대안을 제시하였다. 선조 17년에는 종계변무를 해결하였고, 임진왜란이 발생했을 때는 근왕병 모집 활동 등을 추진하면서 질곡에 빠진 국가와 민족의 위기를 극복하고자 적극 노력하였다. 동인과 서인으로 갈라지기 시작한 선조 7년 이후의 당쟁은 대단히 복잡하게 전개되었다. 지천은 종군활동 시 포로가 된 문제로 상대 당파의 집요한 비판과 탄핵을 받아야 했고, 결국 유배형에 처해지면서 정치 활동을 접어야 했다. 상대 당의 모든 것을 배척하는 극단적인 방향으로 전개되었던 당쟁의 최대 희생양이 지천이었던 것이다. 어제의 역사는 오늘과 내일의 거울이듯이, 국난의 위기 상황에서 당쟁의 희생양이 되었던 지천의 생애와 현실인식의 의미를 돌아보는 이유가 여기에 있다.
