Responsive reading of the Ten Commandments and preaching the subjects of the Ten Commandments are sound traditions of the Christian Church that Korean Protestant churches should recover in order to overcome the severe lack of morality. God gave believers the Ten Commandments as for the norm of life. Christian Church has used the Ten Commandments for the benefits of believers. Following John Calvin, the Reformed theologians endeavored to educate believers in understanding the Ten Commandments in order to show a desirable Christian life. The education of the Ten Commandments is a sound tradition of the Christian Church which the early Korean Church also followed until 1960s. Responsive reading of the Ten Commandments help members of the congregation decide to become mature Christians. Preaching of the subjects of the Ten Commandments will help believers to lead a life of the salt and the light in the world.

십계명 교독과 십계명 설교는 목회자들과 신자들의 삶에 윤리 부재 가 심각한 오늘날 한국교회가 되찾아야 할 건전한 전통이다. 십계명은 하나님께서 우리 신자들을 위해 주신 그리스도인 삶의 규 범이다. 교회는 십계명을 다양하게 활용해 신자들의 유익을 도모했다. John Calvin의 가르침을 따르는 개혁신학자들은 신자의 바람직한 삶 을 제시하기 위해 십계명 교육에 힘을 쏟았다. 십계명을 포함한 교리문 답 항목들을 주제로 한 설교와 예배 때 십계명 교독은 개혁교회의 건전 한 전통이었다. 한국교회도 1960년대 이전까지는 예배에서 십계명을 충실히 교독해 온 편이었다. 십계명 교독은 예배 참여자가 하나님 백성으로 살겠다는 마음의 결 단을 하도록 도와 신자들이 윤리적으로 성숙한 그리스도인들이 되도록 하기에 유익한 것이다. 또한 주일 오후예배 설교 때 십계명을 포함한 교리문답 항목들을 주제로 한 설교는 신자들이 소금과 빛의 삶의 살도록 하는데 큰 도움이 될 것이다.
