In Korea, single person households have become the main household type since 2015, but the church seems indifferent to these social changes. The proportion of single person households was 29.3% in 2018 and is steadily increasing. The increase in the number of single person households is causing various changes in Korean society as a whole. It has become ‘the era of single person households’. Therefore, based on a holistic understanding of the single person household, the church should be noted that the life of a single person household is not only a universal lifestyle, but anyone can live as a single person household at any time in their lives in the age of century. Soon anyone can become a potential single person household, So ‘single person households ministry’ is a very timely and sustainable ministry. In addition, ‘The single person households ministry’ is very prospective in that the ministry can be done not only ‘for single person households’ but also ‘by single person households’. The church exists together, not to a isolated island in the community. Therefore, in order to restore the commonality that is connected and shared with the local residents, it is necessary to pay attention to the single person households in the community as well as in the church. In addition, it was argued that this ministry would be a very meaningful ministry as an opportunity for evangelism to non-belief single person households.

한국 사회는 지난 2015년부터 1인 가구가 주 가구 유형이 되었지만 교회는 이러한 사회 변화에 무관심해 보인다. 1인 가구 비율은 2018년 기준 29.3%로 나타났고 꾸준히 증가 추세이다. 이러한 1인 가구의 증 가는 한국 사회 전반에 여러 변화를 일으키고 있다. 바야흐로‘1인 가 구 시대’가 된 것이다. 그러므로 교회는 1인 가구에 대한 전인적 이해를 바탕으로, 백세 시 대에 1인 가구의 삶이 보편적인 생활양식일 뿐만 아니라 누구라도 생 애의 어느 시기에 1인 가구로 지낼 수 있음을 주지해야 한다. 곧 누구 나 잠재적 1인 가구가 될 수 있으므로‘1인 가구 사역’은 매우 시의성 있고 지속 가능한 사역이다. 또한 1인 가구 사역은‘1인 가구를 위한 사역’의 차원뿐 아니라‘1인 가구에 의한 사역’이 이루어질 수 있다는 점에서 매우 전망이 있다. 교회는 지역사회에서 외딴 섬으로가 아닌, 더불어 존재한다. 그러므 로 지역 주민들과 연계되고 함께하는 공동체성의 회복 차원에서도 교 회 내뿐 아니라 지역사회 1인 가구에 관심을 갖고 사역해야 한다. 또한 이러한 사역은 비신자 1인 가구에게 복음 전도의 기회로서도 매우 의미 있는 사역이 될 것임을 논하였다.
