With the development of new media technology, art has continually expanded the way of expression, and the way of expressing interaction with the audience has also developed in various forms. However, the study of various expression methods rests only on the interaction between the subjective world of the artist and the audience. An artist should not only focus on personal ideas but also share his subjective interests with his social responsibility toward his society, and with the artistic responsibility and role to understand and share the contemporary society with the audience. However, the efforts of artists to expand their social responsibility and the publicity of arts have been passive compared to the artists' efforts to expand their subjective expression. From this point of view, ‘Socially Engaged Art' based on the interaction between art and society is the most appropriate category for art to fulfill its social responsibilities and exert its influence. This study attempts to classify the concept and expression method of 'Socially Engaged Art'. In addition, this study proposes 'Socially Engaged Art' as an alternative to overcome the limitations of the existing public art and analyzes the interaction with the audience according to the expression method of the work. Based on the research results, we tried to use AR-based interactive new media contents appropriately for audience, work, and interaction with society. is an interactive work that make audience to sympathize the artist's intended message about social issues. This study seeks to expand the expression method of 'Socially Engaged Art' from the perspective of the audience, the work, and the interaction with society through the interaction work appropriately utilizing AR-based interactive new media contents.

뉴미디어 기술의 발달로 예술은 그 표현의 방법을 지속적으로 확장해왔으며 관객과 소통하는 인터랙션 표현 방법 또한 다양한 형태로 발전했다. 하지만 이러한 다양한 표현 방법의 연구는 주로 예술가의 주관 적인 작품세계와 관객 간의 인터랙션에서 논의되어 왔다. 예술가는 개인적 발상에만 집중하는 것이 아니 라 그 주관적 관심을 그가 속한 사회로 향해 사회적 문제에 공감하고 관객과 함께 동시대에 소속되어 있는 사회를 이해하고 공유할 수 있는 예술적 책임과 역할도 함께 해야 한다. 하지만 예술가의 사회적 책임과 예술의 공공성 확장에 대한 노력은 예술가의 주관적인 표현 확장을 위한 노력에 비해 소극적이었 다. 이러한 관점에서 예술과 사회의 상호작용을 기반으로 하는 ‘사회참여예술’은 예술이 사회적 책임을 수행하고 그 영향력을 발휘하기에 적합한 범주일 것이다. 본 연구는 ‘사회참여예술’의 개념과 표현 방법 을 우선 분류하고자 한다. 또한, 기존 공공예술의 한계를 극복하기 위한 대안으로 ‘사회참여예술’을 제시 하고 작품의 표현 방법에 따른 관객과의 인터랙션을 분석한다. 연구자는 도출된 연구결과를 바탕으로 AR 기반의 체감형 인터랙티브 뉴미디어 콘텐츠를 관객과 작품, 사회와 상호작용에 적절하게 활용하였다. 작품 은 인터랙션 작품으로 증강현실을 통해 사회적 문제에 대한 예술가의 의도된 메 시지를 관객이 체감하게 한다. 본 연구는 AR 기반의 체감형 인터랙티브 뉴미디어 콘텐츠를 관객과 작 품, 사회와 상호작용에 적절하게 활용한 인터랙션 작품 을 통해 사회참여예술의 표현 방법의 확장을 모색하고자 한다.
