We examine the effect of Overseas Investment Insurance operated by Export Credit Agencies on Foreign Direct Investment Outflows in the world using panel gravity model. For this purpose we aimed at 16 countries that have acquired overseas investment insurance from 2005 to 2017. The model which consists of variables that affect foreign direct investment is assumed and estimated using panel GLS, fixed effect model and random effect model. As a result world GDP, GDPs of overseas investment insurance operating countries, lending rate, geographical distance and overseas investment insurance have a significant influence on foreign direct investment outflows in all models.

이 연구의 목적은 전 세계 수출신용기관들(ECAs)이 운용하는 해외투자보험이 세계 해외투자에 미치는 영향을 계량적인 방법을 통하여 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2005년부터 2017년까지 해외투자보험 인수실적이 있는 16개국을 대상으로 하여, 세계 GDP, 해외투자보험운용국의 GDP, 동 국가의 노동비용의 대리변수인 소비자물가지수, 대출이자율, 해외투자보험인수액, 그리고 지리적 거리의 대리변수인 소속 대륙의 더미변수로 구성된 중력모형함수를 상정하고, 패널GLS와 고정효과모형 및 확률효과모형으로 추정하였다. 추정 결과 해외투자보험은 모든 모형에서 세계 GDP, 해외투자보험운영국의 GDP, 대출이자율 및 지리적 거리 등과 함께 해외투자에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
