The purpose of this study is to examine wrestling performance factors. Focus Group interviews were conducted on 10 college wrestlers (8 men and 2 women) who voluntarily participated in the study. Specifically, after setting up the key question" What determines excellent performance in wrestling" based on prior research, semi-structured interviews were conducted according to five areas of wrestling performance, including physique, physical strength, skill, psychology and strategy. The data collected using smart phone applications and laptops were coded and summarized according to the categorization matrix. The results were triangulated with researchers, one doctoral student in sports psychology, and one college wrestling team head coach, and then research participants were asked to evaluate the accuracy of the results to ensure content validity. The final results from wrestling performance factors were three factors in physique, nine factors in physical strength, eight factors in skill, nine factors in psychology, and three factors in strategy. Through this study, we hope that it will serve as an opportunity to better understand wrestling performance in a multi-manner.

본 연구의 목적은 레슬링 경기력 요인을 탐색하는 데 있다. 자발적으로 연구에 참여한 대학 레슬링 선수 10명(남 8명, 여 2명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 먼저 선행연구를 토대로“레슬링에서 우수한 경기력을 결정 하는 요인은 무엇입니까?”라는 핵심 질문을 설정한 후 체격, 체력, 기술, 심리, 그리고 전략을 포함한 5가지 레슬링 경기력 영역에 따라 반구조화된 면담을 진행하였다. 스마트폰 앱과 노트북을 이용해 수집한 자료는 연구자가 2회 정독하고 전사 한 후 범주화 행렬에 따라 코딩하고 요약하였다. 생성한 결과는 연구자, 스포츠심리학 박사과정 1인 그리고 대학 레슬링부 지도자 1인과 함께 삼각검증법을 실시하였으며, 연구 참여자에게도 결과물의 정확성 평가를 요청함으로써 내용 타당성을 확보하였다. 레슬링 경기력 요인으로 최종 산출된 결과는 체격 3요인, 체력 9요인, 기술 8요인, 심리 9요인, 그리고 전략 3요인으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해서 레슬링 경기력을 다각적으로 이해하는 계기가 되기를 바란다.
