This paper investigates Spanish gapping which appears in the context of pseudo-stripping. In general, both not-stripping and pseudo-stripping occur in coordinate structures. Both types of ellipsis constructions are similar to each other in terms of ellipsis licensing by polarity markers such as sí and no, but they are different from each other with regards to the position of the polarity marker relative to the remnant. The occurrence of gapping in the context of pseudostripping is interesting because it is considered to be an instance of pseudostripping due to the relative word order between the remnant and the polarity marker, but it involves two remnants instead of one, and thereby on the surface it can be regarded as a combination of gapping and pseudo-stripping. For this type of ellipsis constructions in Spanish, I propose a clausal ellipsis analysis in terms of movement and deletion, and I argue that movement of the remnant must be involved in the derivation since the polarity marker always appears following all remnants. Finally, I address some issues relating to island repair by ellipsis in order to justify that movement of the remnant is needed for the analysis of gapping in the context of pseudo-stripping.

이 논문에서는 유사 최소공백화(pseudo-stripping)의 환경에 출현한 스페인어의 공백화 (gapping)에 관해 연구하고자 한다. 일반적으로 부정 최소공백화(not-stripping)와 유사 최소 공백 화는 등위접속구조(coordinate structure)에서 출현한다. 이 두 구문은 sí/no 등과 같은 극성표지 (polarity marker)에 의해 생략이 인허된다는 측면에서 보면 서로 유사하지만 생략의 잔여물 (remnant)과 극성표지의 상대적 위치에 따라 서로 다른 구문으로 볼 수 있다. 유사 최소공백화의 환경에 출현하는 공백화가 흥미로운 이유는 바로 극성표지를 동반한 구문임에도 불구하고 잔여 물은 하나가 아닌 적어도 두 개이기 때문이며 이에 따라 외견상 공백화와 유사하다고 간주할 수 있다. 즉, 해당 구문은 일종의 유사 최소공백화와 공백화의 조합으로 볼 수 있다. 이와 같은 구문 에 대해 본고는 최근 생략문 분석에 널리 채택되는 소위 이동과 삭제(movement and deletion)라 는 이론적 기제를 통해 분석하고자 하며, 해당 구문에 나타난 극성표지는 모든 잔여물들을 후행 해야 한다는 점을 근거로 본고가 제안하는 PF-삭제 분석에는 반드시 잔여물의 이동(movement of the remnant)이 포함되어야 함을 주장하고자 한다. 마지막으로, 섬제약(island constraint) 위반 이 생략을 통해 개선(repair by ellipsis)될 수 있다는 측면을 살펴봄으로써 본고에서 제안한 분석 에 포함된 잔여물의 의무적 이동이 유사 최소공백화의 환경에 출현한 스페인어의 공백화 분석에 필수적이라는 점을 뒷받침하고자 한다.
