The purpose of this study is to define sport motivation scale for elementary school vhildren who regularly participate in sports activities in order to promote physical participation of elementary school children. The subjects are 364(boys: 184, girls: 180) elementary school children who have living in G city. This study use The Sport Motivation Scale for elementary school children which is constructed 24items. This study use descriptive statics, correlation analysis, and exploratory and confirmed factor analysis. The results are as follows; First, this study confirm The Sport Motivation Scale for elementary school children which have three sub-factors as internal motivation(16 items), external motivation(4 items), and amotivation(4 items). Second, this three factors model is confirmed because general index of confirmed factors analysis(χ 2 = 490.38, CDMIN/df=2/.17, RMR=.032, GFI=.901, NFI=.922, TLI = .946, CFI = .956, RMSEA = .048) is over the norm. Third, this scale is confirmed Construct validity and convergent validity because all of items have more than .05 SRW, SMC, and AVE. Therefore, the Sport Motivation Scale for elementary school children developed this study can be seen as a measure of it’s reliability and validity, suggesting that this scale can be used to identify sports motivation of elementary school children.

이 연구는 초등학생의 신체활동참여를 활성화하기 위해 스포츠활동에 정기적으로 참여하고 있는 초등학생을 대상 으로 스포츠동기척도를 타당화 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 G광역시에 거주하고 있는 364명(남: 184, 여: 180)을 대상으로 초등학생을 위한 스포츠동기척도를 사용하여 기술통계, 신뢰도 분석, 상관분 석, 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석을 실시하여 분석한 결과 첫째, 초등학생을 위한 스포츠동기척도는 내적 동기, 외적 동기, 무동기의 3개의 하위요인으로 구성된 24문항이 확인되었으며 확인적 요인분석의 전반적 지수는 타당도를 입 증할만한 수준을 보였다. 둘째, 개념타당도 산출지수인 측정변수 간의 인과계수를 나타내는 SRW와 제곱다중상관을 나타내는 SMC 지수가 대부분 .50 이상으로 나타나 개념타당도가 입증되었으며 수렴타당도를 나타내는 평균분산추 출 계수인 AVE값이 모두 .50 이상으로 나타나 수렴타당도가 입증되었다. 또한, 상관으로 분석된 구인타당도도 양 호한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이 연구에서 사용된 초등학생을 위한 스포츠동기척도는 신뢰도와 타당도가 확보된 척도로 볼 수 있으며 초등학생의 스포츠동기를 파악하는데 사용될 수 있는 척도임을 시사해 준다.
