The aim of this paper is to clarify the semantic distribution and formation of meaning from the perspective of frame semantics (Fillmore 1977) that function as a noun in Japanese ideophones. In previous studies, noun ideophones have been considered unusual except for a very few that refer to certain specific objects or baby talk. In this paper, I investigated the semantic distribution of noun ideophones and how their meaning can be formed using the definition of a dictionary, the information of frame elements in FrameNet, and the judgment of Japanese native speakers. I argue that there are important factors that make Japanese ideophones easier to convert to nouns in the inherent semantic characters of ideophones and the expression structure of Japanese. The results confirm that noun ideophones are divided into those that represent an object and those that represent an event. Moreover, those that represent an event can be subdivided into an entire event that involves physical actions and relatively abstract events such as emotions or cognitive states, including their internal or external factors.

일본어

本稿では日本語オノマトペの中で名詞として用いられるものを対象にフレーム意味論からその意味的分布や意味形成の仕組みを明らかにすることを目的とする。従来、名詞として用いられるものは幼児語や慣習性の高い具体物を指示する一部のものの他は、一般的ではないものとして本格的に考察されなかった。そこで本稿では、コーパスやインターネットの検索エンジンを用い、名詞として使われたオノマトペを採集した。そしてそれらが、どのような意味的分布を見せるのか、また意味形成の仕組みはどうなっているのかを、辞書の定義、フレーム要素の情報、母語話者の判断を総合して検討を行った。さらに日本語オノマトペにおいて名詞への転換が起こりやすい背景要因についてオノマトペという語類が持つ本来の意味的特質と日本語という言語体系の表現構造の特徴から分析を行った。

본 연구는 일본어 오노마토페 중에서 명사적 용법으로 쓰여지는 것을 대상으로 프레임 의미론의 관점에서 그 의미 분포와 의미 형성의 구조를 명확히 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구는 코퍼스와 인터넷 검색엔진을 이용해 명사적 용법으로 쓰여지는 오노마토페가 어떠한 의미적 분포를 보이는지, 그 의미형성의 구조는 어떻게 되어있는지에 대해 사전의 의미기술과 프레임 요소의 정보, 일본어 모어 화자의 판단을 참고로 하여 검토를 진행했다. 또한 일본어 오노마토페에서 명사로의 품사 전환이 일어나기 쉬운 이유에 대해 오노마토페가 가지고 있는 본래의 의미적인 특성과 일본어라는 언어체계가 가지고 있는 표현구조의 특징이 중요한 요소가 되고 있다는 것을 밝혔다. 분석 결과, 명사적 용법으로 쓰여지는 오노마토페는 크게 사물을 나타내는 것과 사건을 나타내는 것으로 나뉜다는 것을 확인했다. 사건을 나타내는 것은, 구체적인 신체동작을 수반하는 특정 사건 전체를 나타내는 것과 감정이나 인지작용 등 비교적 추상적인 사건과 그러한 상태를 유발시키는 내적, 외적인 요소들까지 포괄하여 나타내는 것으로 하위 분류된다는 것을 확인하였다.
