The purpose of this study was to set up the education contents and to establish items of culture education to Improve Arabic-speaking Korean learners’ and Korean speaking Arabic learners’ intercultural communicative competence. In order to communicate fluently with speakers of the target language, learners need not only linguistic skills but also intercultural communicative competence that they can understand the deep structure of culture and classification of thinking that enables speaking in the target language. For such a reason, this study researched the concept and the composition elements of intercultural communicative competence based on the preceding studies. And then, using iceberg model, categorized the items of the culture education by four types as follows: ‘attitude·manner’, ‘cultural base’, ‘cultural surface’ and ‘communication techniques’. And based on this items described Korean and Arabian cultural contents for culture education. Although, this research is not be able to present the detailed teaching method of intercultural communicative competence, it is meaningful in that it established the cultural education Items which were divided into deep culture and surface culture of Korean’s and Arabian's and constructed the cultural contents by the cultural education items.

이 연구의 목적은 한국인 아랍어 학습자와 아랍인 한국어 학습자의 문화 간 의사소통 능력 신장을 위해 문화교육의 항목을 설계하고 내용을 선정하는 데 있다. 이 두 언어권 의 학습자들이 목표 문화권의 화자들과 원활히 소통하기 위해서는 언어적 능력뿐만 아니라 목표 언어의 발화를 가능하게 하는 사고의 유형과 문화의 심층 구조를 이해하고 상 호작용할 수 있는 문화 간 의사소통능력이 요구된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선행연구를 바 탕으로 문화 간 의사소통능력의 개념과 구성 요소에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고 빙산 모델 을 활용하여 ‘자세·태도’, ‘문화 기저’, ‘문화 표층’, ‘소통 기술’로 범주화한 교육 항목 을 설계하였으며, 이를 기준으로 문화 교육을 위한 한-아 문화 내용들을 기술하였다. 본 연구는 문화 간 의사소통 수업의 구체적인 방안을 보여 주지는 못하였으나, 한국과 아랍 의 문화 영역을 심층 문화와 표층 문화로 구분하여 문화 교육 항목을 설정하고, 영역별 내용을 구성하였다는 점에서 의미가 있을 것이다.
