In this study, practical implications for the derivation of strategies were derived from an importance-performance analysis (IPA) on the Korean restaurants located in the Bomun Tourism Complex and downtown Gyeongju in South Korea. First, the most important attribute involving the customers’ selection of Korean restaurants was taste of the food (4.51) in downtown Gyeongju. Taste of the food (4.51) was also the most important attribute in choosing Korean restaurants in the Bomun Tourism Complex. Operation hours (3.92) was the attribute that yielded the highest satisfaction among the customers of Korean restaurants in the Bomun Tourism Complex. In case of the Korean restaurants in downtown Gyeongju, convenience of transportation (3.91) derived the highest satisfaction. Second, the IPA result indicates that the following attributes are the strengths of the Korean restaurants located in the Bomun Tourism Complex: freshness of the food, cleanliness of the tableware, quality of the food, price, immaculate service, indoor cleanliness, traditional Korean menu and image, convenience of parking, and taste of the food. The following attributes are considered the weaknesses of the Korean restaurants in the Bomun Tourism Complex that require an improvement: serving size, prompt service, operation hours, reputation, size of the restaurant, the number of available seating, and appearance of the building. In the case of the Korean restaurants located in downtown Gyeongju, the following strengths are derived from the IPA result: taste of the food, quality of the food, freshness of the food, cleanliness of tableware, prompt service, accurate service, and convenience of transportation. Weaknesses of the Korean restaurants located in downtown Gyeongju that need to be improved include the price of the food, attentive service, indoor cleanliness, convenience of parking, and service attitude.

본 연구는 경주 보문단지내 한식당과 경주 시내권 한식당 대해 IPA분석을 실시하여 한식당 영업의 실무적인 시사점들을 도출하고자 하였다. 첫째, 경주 시내권 한식당 선택에 있어서 중요하게 생각하는 속성은 음식의 맛인 것 으로 나타났고, 경주 보문단지내 한식당 선택에 있어서 중요하게 생각하는 속성도 음 식의 맛인 것으로 나타났다. 경주 보문단지내 한식당 이용에 있어서 가장 만족하는 속 성은 영업시간인 것으로 나타났고, 경주 시내권 한식당 이용에 있어서 가장 만족하는 속성은 교통의 편리성인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 경주 보문단지내 한식당의 IPA분석 결과 강점인 한식당의 선택속성은 ㉠ 음 식의 신선도, ㉡ 식기의 청결성, ㉢ 음식의 품질, ㉣ 음식의 가격, ㉤ 정확한 서비스, ㉥ 실내의 청결성, ㉦ 한국적인 메뉴와 이미지, ㉧ 주차의 편리성, ㉨ 음식의 맛이다. 약점으로 시정노력해야 하는 한식당 선택속성은 ㉠ 음식의 양, ㉡ 신속한 서비스, ㉢ 영업시간, ㉣ 소문이나 평판, ㉤ 규모, 좌석수, ㉥ 건물의 외관이다. 경주 시내권 한식 당의 IPA분석 결과 강점인 한식당의 선택속성은 ㉠ 음식의 맛, ㉡ 식의 품질, ㉢ 음식 의 신선도, ㉣ 식기의 청결성, ㉤ 신속한 서비스, ㉥ 정확한 서비스, ㉦ 교통의 편리성 이다. 약점으로 우선 시정노력의 한식당 선택속성은 ㉠ 음식의 가격, ㉡ 친절한 서비 스, ㉢ 실내의 청결성, ㉣ 주차의 편리성, ㉤ 접객태도와 환송태도이다.
