This paper examines the literature written by Korean Japanese that was translated into Korean, and then figures out their literary trends and suggest problems to be settled out. The general trend is as follows: most of the literature was published later than the year 2000; the study is focused on only a few writers; and the study on poetry has been poorly conducted compared to that on novels. Among the problems with the study of Korean Japanese literature is poor communication between researchers, in particular between Japanese and Korean literary scholars. This may lead to unsatisfactory results in contrast to an quantitatively increased amount of studying. Moreover, there are other urgent problems to solve such as unnatural vocabulary use due to phonetically focused translation and delayed translation of important texts. Without resolving these problems, we cannot achieve one of the objectives in the study of Korean-Japanese literature - searching the identity of the 'Korean Japanese.'

이 글에서는 재일한국인 문학 연구의 성과들을 한글로 발표된 논저 에 한정하여 검토한 후 동향을 파악하고 그 과제를 제시해 보았다. 연 구 논저들은 대부분 2000년 이후에 나왔으며, 연구 대상이 일부 작가 에 치우쳐 있고, 소설에 비해 시 분야 연구가 부진하다는 점 등이 전체 적인 동향이라고 할 수 있다. 재일한국인 문학 연구의 과제로는 연구자 끼리, 특히 일본문학 연구자와 한국문학 연구자 사이에 소통이 원활하 지 않다는 점을 우선 지적할 수 있다. 이는 양적으로 팽창한 연구에 비 해 성과가 아직 미흡한 요인이 되는 것으로 판단된다. 아울러 일본어 (日本語)의 음만을 빌려와서 번역하는 등 부자연스러운 어휘 사용의 문 제, 중요한 텍스트들에 대한 번역이 지체되고 있는 문제 등도 시급히 해결해야 할 과제라고 할 수 있다. 이런 문제점들이 제대로 해결되어야 ‘재일’의 정체성 규명이라는 재일한국인 문학 연구의 한 목표에 가까이 다가설 수 있을 것이다.
