The purpose of this study was to seek the implications of content analysis of gender equality in the field of family life in the 2015 revised technology․home economics curriculum. For the purpose of this study, content of middle school textbooks for technology․home economics was analyzed. The analysis results are as follows: First, in the key concept of ‘development’, the meaning of gender equality was described separately from sexual and social development. Gender roles, gender stereotypes, changes in gender roles, and androgyne were explained. Secondly, in the key concept of ‘relationships’, the meaning of a gender-equal family relationship focused on a democratic family and relationships. The presentation method consisted of members’ efforts to create a gender-equal, democratic family as well as ways to improve relationships. Thirdly, in the key concept of ‘life design’, the meaning of work-family balance was described in conjunction with the importance, problems, and solutions of work-family balance. Relevant institutions and policies for work-family balance in life design required to be presented variously with appropriate systems and policies for work-family balance. Through this study, deeper topics for learning and balanced descriptions are required to consider the extension and continuity of educational content in term of gender equality curriculum.

본 연구는 2015 개정 교육과정에서 기술·가정 교과서 가정생활 분야의 양성평등 교육내용을 분 석함으로써 이를 토대로 시사점을 모색하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 본 연구의 목적을 위해 중학교 기 술·가정 교과서를 대상으로 내용분석을 수행하였으며 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 핵심개념 ‘발달’에서 양성평등의 의미에 대한 진술은 성적 발달, 사회적 발달을 구분하여 진술되었으며 성역할, 성역할 고정관념, 성역할 변화, 양성성을 진술하고 있었다. 둘째, 핵심개념 ‘관계’에서 양성평등한 가족관계의 의미에 대한 진술은 양성평등한 가족관계와 민주적인 가족관계에 초점을 두고 진술하였고 건강한 가정을 만들기 위한 가족구성원의 노력과 관계 개선을 위한 방법을 나타내고 있었다. 셋째, 핵심개념 ‘생애설계’에서 일 가정 양립의 의미에 대한 진술은 일·가정 양립 의 중요성, 갈등과 문제, 해결방안을 진술하고 있었다. 임신출산 시기와 자녀육아 시기에 적합한 제도와 정책들을 제시하고 있어 생애주기별로 일 가정 양립 관련 제도와 정책을 다양하게 제시할 필요가 있었다. 이러한 분석을 토대로 양성평등 교육과정 측면에서 교육내용의 확장과 연속성을 고 려하여 깊이 있는 학습주제와 균형 잡힌 서술이 요구된다.
