This paper aims to establish the poetry of "ZAINICHI(‘在日’)" through poetry and poetry by Kim Si-jong, a representative poet of Korean literature in Japan. This is meant to reflect on the fact that the study of Korean-Japanese literature has so far been overwhelmed by ideologies such as language, ethnicity and the country, failing to pay attention to the identity and speciality of "ZAINICHI". The main purpose of the study is to identify the poetic characteristics of "ZAINICHI" by paying attention to the identity and specificity of "ZAINICHI" in that the issue of "ZAINICHI" is closely related to the real problems of Korean-Japanese society. Based on Kim's poems and poems, there are three main directions for determining the poetical history of "ZAINICHI". First, an understanding of the meaning of poetry as a "criticism" advocated by Japanese poet Ono tozaburou, who had an absolute influence in shaping the world of poetry by Kim Si-jong. Secondly, an analysis of how such a poetic or poetic orientation recognized the Japanese language as a tool that embodies the existential basis of "ZAINICHI". and thirdly, the traditional Japanese criticism of "single lyricism" and "reflection" of "single lyricism" as a means to shape the absolute influence of Kim Si-jong's poetry world. The three views illustrate the specific direction that the poetry of "ZAINICHI" will go forward in that it contains a core sense of problem, overcoming "ZAINICHI" blocked by language, ethnicity and the nation, and opening anew the possibility of "ZAINICHI" beyond division, ideology and generations. As such, Kim Si-jong's poetry world has maintained the independence of "ZAINICHI" and opened a poetic horizon based on the existence of Korean residents in Japan. It showed a unified direction to overcome the current reality of the Korean-Japanese society, which has been standing in the midst of sharp conflict and confrontation left by the years of colonization and division. Kim Si-jong's poetry reading of "ZAINICHI" is problematic in that it is based on a unique sense of language - Japanese, or "Jail-Korean" - rather than Japanese. And the denial of "unique lyric," the essence of traditional Japanese aesthetics, and the fullness of its meaning as a "criticism" also contains an important sense of problem. With the existence of Korean residents in Japan and the aesthetics of the advantageous traditional lyric, it can never capture the complex, middle-class meaning of the history of "ZAINICHI" lived. Thus, Kim Si-jong's sense of "living a life of reincarnation" is the most fundamental foundation for the independent creation of the poetry of "ZAINICHI" by comprehensively recognizing the crevices of language, ethnicity and nation.

본 논문은 재일조선인 시문학의 대표적 시인인 김시종의 시와 시론을 통해 ‘재일’의 시학을 정립해 보고자 하는데 있다. 이는 지금까지 재일조선인 시문학 연구가 언어, 민족, 국가 등의 이데올로기에 지나치게 압도되어 ‘재일’의 독자성과 특수성을 주목하지 못했다는 데 대한 반성의 의미를 지닌다. ‘재일’의 문제는 재일조선인 사회의 현실적 문제들과 밀접하게 연관된다는 점에서, ‘재일’의 독자성과 특수성에 주목하여 ‘재일’의 시학적 특성을 규명하는 것이 주된 연구 목적이다. 김시종의 시와 시론에 근거하여 ‘재일’의 시학을 규명하는 방향은 크게 세 가지이다. 첫째, 김시종의 시 세계를 형성하는 데 있어서 절대적인 영향을 미친 일본의 시인 오노 도자부로의 『시론』이 표방한 ‘비평’으로서의 시가 지닌 의미에 대한 이해, 둘째, 이러한 시론 혹은 시학적 방향 정립이 ‘재일’의 실존적 근거를 형상화하는 도구로서의 일본어를 어떻게 인식했는가 하는 점에 대한 분석, 셋째, ‘단가적 서정’이라는 일본의 전통적 정감의 세계를 배격하고 ‘비평’으로서의 시학으로 나아가는 과정에 대한 논증이다. 이 세 가지 관점은 언어, 민족, 국가에 가로막힌 ‘재일’을 극복하고, 분단, 이념, 세대를 넘어서는 ‘재일’의 가능성을 새롭게 열어가는 핵심적인 문제의식을 담고 있다는 점에서 ‘재일’의 시학이 나아갈 구체적인 방향성을 보여준다. 이처럼 김시종의 시세계는 ‘재일’의 독자성을 유지하면서 재일조선인의 실존에 토대를 두고 시학적 지평을 열어나갔다. 식민과 분단의 세월이 남긴 첨예한 갈등과 대립 속에 서 살아온 재일조선인 사회의 당면 현실을 극복하는 통합적 방향을 보여주었던 것이다. 김시종의 ‘재일’의 시학은 일본어가 아닌 일본어, 즉 ‘재일조선인어’라는 독특한 언어의식에 바탕을 두고 있다는 점에서 문제적이다. 그리고 일본 전통 미학의 정수인 ‘단가적 서정’을 부정하고 ‘비평’으로서의 서정을 전면화한 것도 중요한 문제의식을 담고 있다. 재일조선인의 실존과 유리된 전통 서정의 미학으로는 ‘재일’의 역사가 살아온 복합적이고 중층적인 의미를 결코 담아낼 수 없다고 보았기 때문이다. 따라서 김시종이 말한 ‘재일을 살아간다’라는 문제의식이야말로 언어, 민족, 국가라는 ‘틈새’를 통합적으로 인식함으로써 ‘재일’의 시학을 독자적으로 생성해 나가는 가장 근본적인 토대가 된다고 할 수 있다.
