This paper estimates the effects of working while in university on labor market outcomes after graduation, using Youth Panel 2007. The types of working were divided into part-time job and intern experience and wage equation, probit, and ordered probit model were used to estimate the effects. The result shows that working has positive effect on labor market outcomes by achieving skills and knowledge related to business practice but also signaled their ability to employers. Additionally, the effect of intern is larger than the part-time job. Especially, intern experience which is switched to permanent employments also improve positively labor market outcomes.

본 연구는 한국고용정보원에서 제공하는 청년패널(YP2007)의 1차～10차년도 자료를 활용하여 대학 재학 중 근로경험이 졸업 후 노동시장 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 근로유형을 단순 아르바이트와 인턴 경험으로 나누어 분석하였으며 이를 분석하기 위해 임금방정식, 프로빗 모형, 그리고 순서형 프로빗 모형을 사용하였다. 분석 결과 근로경험은 노동시장 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 재학 중 근로경험을 통해 직무 관련 기술 및 지식을 습득하여 생산성을 향상시켰을 뿐만 아니라 근로경험 자체가 구직자의 능력을 나타내주는 역할을 하였기 때문이다. 또한 그 효과는 인턴이 단순 아르바이트 경험보다 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 특히 인턴경험의 경우 정규직 전환형 채용 또한 노동시장성과에 긍정적인 영향을 주었을 것이다.
