1. About the cat's loneliness, people did not show any interest to the small abandoned cat. In spite of being turned out several times, the tiny cat succeeded to enter into the master's house. That reminded the writer of this novel about his unhappy childhood. At the young age of 2 months, he was sent away to be raised by a nurse and later, the writer was adopted at 4 years old. 2. About the teacher, Kushami's loneliness with the pockmarked face, he was embarrassed because of his bad complexion, especially in England. Regarding his life in London, he reflected, 「Two years in London was the unhappiest time in my life. It was just like a dog with down among wolves, when I compared myself to the proud English gentlmen.」 In England, his spiritual condition returned again and similar to his experience 10 years ago. 3. About Kushami's childish character, it was his illusion that high school student's voices were insulting him. His character and voices from these illusions helped to create his way of thinking. These things also became traits like a whirl-wind and as a result of these sufferings, he was drawned by a vision and he didn't recognize his own behavior. 4. About hatred of a detective, it was his decisive character. He is too self-righteous. He distinguished A between B in everything. One more reason is similiar to the idea that someone harmed him. At last, throughout the writer's entire life, he yearned for a warm motherly affection in his bosom of unconciousness but never received it.
